Marrakech Golf Holidays

Snow capped Atlas peaks behind palm lined fairways, a short flight from Europe and a riad to come home to. Value golf with a sense of occasion.

Who this trip suits

Marrakech is the most atmospheric value golf trip within easy reach of Europe. A handful of genuinely good modern courses sit beneath the High Atlas, the green fees are a fraction of the Algarve or Dubai, and the city itself, with its riads, souks and dining, gives non golfers a reason to come too.

  • Value seekers who want strong courses and a luxury feel without Dubai or Algarve prices.
  • Mixed groups where some play and some prefer the souks, the spa and the food.
  • Winter golfers chasing a short haul sun trip from October to April.
  • Couples after a riad and a round, with the city as the real headline.

Best time to go and to book

Play from October to April, when daytime temperatures are warm rather than fierce and the Atlas often still wears snow. Spring, roughly March to May, and autumn, September to November, are the prettiest and most comfortable. Summer is very hot and best avoided for golf. Courses are rarely as crowded as the Algarve, so two to four weeks ahead is usually enough for tee times, though premium riads over Christmas, New Year and Easter book up early.

Marrakech golf holidays, answered

Is Marrakech good value for golf?

Yes. Green fees commonly run from about 42 to 112 euros for 18 holes, well below the Algarve or Dubai, while the courses and the city experience remain high end.

What is the best course in Marrakech?

Opinion divides between the mature Amelkis, the modern Kyle Phillips design at Al Maaden and the mountain views at Assoufid. Most golfers try to play all three across a week.

When should I play golf in Marrakech?

October to April. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable, with warm days and the Atlas often snow capped behind the fairways. Summer is too hot for enjoyable golf.

Is Marrakech good for non golfers too?

Very much so. The medina, the souks, the riads, the spas and the food give non playing partners a full trip of their own while the group is on the course.
