Affiliate Disclosure
We are an independent guide, not a tour operator. Here is exactly how GolfForKings makes money, and why what we earn never decides what we recommend.
The short version
GolfForKings is reader supported and partner supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission when you book a tee time, reserve a hotel, or send a trip enquiry through us, at no extra cost to you. We also earn when a trip enquiry you submit is matched to a vetted operator who builds your trip. None of this changes our editorial verdicts, our course rankings, or the order in which courses appear. We rank on merit, then we tell you how to play.
How we earn
There are four ways money reaches us, in the order they matter to the site:
- Trip enquiries. When you submit a brief through our Plan my golf trip form, we route it to an established golf travel operator. If they build and you book, we are remunerated by the operator. You pay the operator the same price you would pay going direct.
- Tee time partners. Course profiles and best of lists may carry tee time booking links. If you book a round through one, we may earn a small flat fee per round.
- Hotel and resort partners. Destination guides, itineraries and the where to stay sections may link to hotels. We may earn a percentage of a completed stay.
- The Tee Sheet newsletter. Our newsletter is free. In time it may carry clearly labeled sponsorship from operators and resorts. Sponsored placements are always marked as such.
What our money does not buy
A partner cannot pay to be ranked higher, to be called the best, or to remove a fair criticism. Our rankings and verdicts are decided before any commercial conversation, and they are not for sale. Where a course we rate highly happens to have no affiliate relationship, we still send you to it and tell you how to get on. Where a partner underperforms, we say so or we drop them.
Prices and green fees
We are a guide, not an operator, so we never quote our own pricing. Any green fees and package ranges on the site are third party figures, marked indicative, with the season and year they apply to. Prices move, so always confirm directly before booking. Where a number can change, we say so and point you to the club or operator for the live figure.
In plain compliance terms
This disclosure is provided in the spirit of the United States Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements and the United Kingdom Advertising Standards Authority rules on affiliate marketing. When a link can earn us money, assume it might, and treat every recommendation as one we would still make if it earned us nothing. Questions about a specific relationship are welcome through our contact form.
