Lanzarote Golf Packages

Two courses, one volcanic island, and an airport ten minutes from the first tee. Lanzarote is the simplest golf trip in the Canaries: a Ron Kirby par 72 above Puerto del Carmen, the 1978 island original at Costa Teguise, shared golf passes between them, and Timanfaya's lava fields for the day off. Here is who it suits, the courses to build around, a sample five night structure and indicative costs.

Who this trip suits

A Lanzarote golf package is built for the golfer who wants winter sun without complication. César Manrique Lanzarote Airport, ACE on the baggage tag, sits about five kilometers from Arrecife; the United Kingdom and Germany account for more than 60 percent of its international traffic, which tells you who fills the fairways from November to April. Lanzarote Golf is roughly nine kilometers and ten minutes from the terminal, Puerto del Carmen five minutes beyond it, and Costa Teguise about 20 minutes north. Nothing here involves a long transfer.

It suits couples and small groups who want golf woven into a broader island week. With two courses the rhythm is play, rest, repeat: Timanfaya's volcano park, the La Geria wine valley and Manrique's Jameos del Agua fill the days between rounds. Golfers chasing volume should look at Gran Canaria with its eight courses or Tenerife; our Canary Islands hub maps the whole archipelago, the Madeira versus the Canaries comparison covers the Atlantic alternative, and the guide to golf in Spain handles the mainland.

The courses to build around

Lanzarote Golf, modern Ron Kirby layout between Puerto del Carmen and Tías, Lanzarote

Lanzarote Golf

Ron Kirby, 2008 · Par 72 · Public summer 2026 fee 85 euros

The modern course, opened in October 2008 between Puerto del Carmen and Tías by American architect Ron Kirby. It is a par 72 of 6,133 meters, four par 3s, ten par 4s and four par 5s, routed over the natural contours with the original rock left in play and the Atlantic in view from the clubhouse terraces. The published summer 2026 rate is 85 euros for 18 holes, valid for tee times from 08:40 to 14:50, with agent rates a touch under that. Buggies run from 28 euros and the course walks easily.

Costa Teguise Golf

John Harris, 1978 · Par 72 · 2026 fees 106 to 122 euros

The island original, designed by John Harris and opened in 1978, three decades before its neighbor. More than 3,500 palms turn the par 72 into a green oasis against black volcanic ground, and the contrast is the point of golf on this island. Published 2026 green fees are 106 euros for 18 holes in summer, May 1 to September 30, and 122 euros in winter, October 1 to April 30, with nine hole rates of 81 and 92 euros. Our list of the golf courses in Lanzarote profiles both layouts hole by hole.

The two course golf pass

4 to 8 rounds · Indicative 294 to 806 euros by season

The structural trick of a Lanzarote golf week. The two clubs sell shared passes: a four day pass with two rounds at each course listed at 294 euros for summer 2026, against 412 euros for winter 2025 to 2026, and an eight day pass with four rounds at each course from 595 euros in summer up to about 806 euros depending on season. Summer passes are restricted to morning and early afternoon times, when you want to play anyway before the wind gets up. The Canary Islands green fee guide puts these numbers in island context.

Designers, opening years and layouts verified June 2026. Green fees are club published or agent rates for the 2025 to 2026 and 2026 seasons and vary by day, time and pass. Always confirm directly before booking.

A sample five night Lanzarote trip

Day 1

Arrive and settle in Puerto del Carmen

Land at ACE and transfer ten to fifteen minutes to Puerto del Carmen. Walk the old town harbor, hit balls at Lanzarote Golf's twenty bay range, and book the week's tee times if you have not already.

Day 2

Lanzarote Golf

The opener, five minutes from the hotels. Kirby kept the lava rock and the ocean views and built greens he wanted challenging but never unfair; take a morning time and let the round breathe before lunch on the terrace.

Day 3

Costa Teguise Golf

Drive about 20 minutes north for the 1978 John Harris original, palms against black volcanic ground. Play early, then spend the afternoon in Teguise town or on the Costa Teguise beaches.

Day 4

Timanfaya and La Geria

The rest day the island was made for: the volcano park at Timanfaya in the morning, lunch and malvasía tastings among the ash pit vineyards of La Geria, and Manrique's Jameos del Agua before dinner.

Day 5

Second rounds on the pass

The four day golf pass carries two rounds at each club, so replay whichever course won the argument. Most groups go back to Lanzarote Golf for the short transfer and the clubhouse terrace.

Day 6

Morning at leisure, then home

A swim and a slow breakfast, or a dawn nine at Costa Teguise, listed at 81 euros in summer. The airport is ten minutes from Puerto del Carmen, the gentlest final morning in the Canaries.

Transfers are trivial: airport to Puerto del Carmen in about ten minutes, the two courses roughly 21 kilometers apart. A rental car helps for Timanfaya but is not essential for the golf.

Best time to book

November to April is the season Lanzarote sells, and the demand is structural: the same golfers return every winter, so the better hotels and prime morning tee times need locking in two to three months ahead, earlier for Christmas and half term weeks. May to September is the quiet bargain, when the four round pass drops from 412 to 294 euros and Lanzarote Golf's rate sits at 85 euros, the only catch being summer tee windows that close mid afternoon, sensible anyway given the trade winds. November is also when the island earns its place in our list of where to play golf in November, and our winter sun package comparison shows where Lanzarote lands against Belek, the Algarve and the rest.

The two clubs sit about 21 kilometers apart, roughly 20 minutes by car, and sell shared multi round golf passes.

November to April is the classic winter sun window, when the island fills with northern European golfers and the better hotels and tee sheets need booking two to three months ahead. May to September is the value play: the shared four round golf pass falls from 412 euros in winter 2025 to 2026 to 294 euros for summer 2026, and Lanzarote Golf's 85 euro summer rate applies to tee times between 08:40 and 14:50. The trade winds blow hardest in summer afternoons, so take morning times.

Where should you stay for golf in Lanzarote?

Puerto del Carmen is the natural base, about five minutes from Lanzarote Golf and ten from the airport. Costa Teguise suits golfers building the week around the older course, with Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote and Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort in the resort and Hotel Beatriz Costa within about 3 kilometers of the fairways. Puerto Calero offers the quietest luxury, with Secrets Lanzarote Resort and Spa and Hotel Costa Calero by the marina, while Princesa Yaiza in Playa Blanca works for families who accept longer drives to both courses.
