Gran Canaria Golf Packages

Eight courses, a south coast microclimate that barely registers winter, and the oldest golf club in Spain on the rim of a volcanic crater. Gran Canaria packages beautifully: short transfers, one hotel all week, and fees that nearly halve in summer. Here is who it suits, the courses to build around, a sample five night structure and indicative 2026 costs.

Who this trip suits

A Gran Canaria golf package is built for the golfer who wants guaranteed warmth between November and April without flying past Europe to find it. The island sits off the coast of Africa, four to five hours from most northern hubs, under a famous south coast microclimate: the central mountains catch the cloud, and Maspalomas and Meloneras stay sunny while the north of the island does not. The golf clusters tightly, with Maspalomas Golf, Meloneras Golf and Salobre within about 15 minutes of each other and 30 to 40 minutes of the airport, so this is a one base trip, ideal for couples, winter escape groups and golfers adding rounds to a beach week.

It also suits anyone who wants variety in a small radius: a 1968 Mackenzie Ross parkland beside Saharan style dunes, an Arizona flavored canyon course, a seaside resort layout, and a club founded in 1891 on the edge of a volcanic caldera, all in one week. Our Tenerife versus Gran Canaria comparison settles the island rivalry round by round, the wider Canary Islands hub covers Lanzarote and the rest of the archipelago, and our guide to golf in Spain handles the mainland.

The courses to build around

Salobre Golf

36 holes · Indicative 2026 from 75 euros in summer

The only 36 hole resort on the island, carved through desert canyons ten minutes inland from Maspalomas. The Old Course opened in 1999 and hosted the Spanish PGA in 2006; the New Course, a Ron Kirby design from 2008, returns to its full 18 holes at par 70 from winter 2026 after a David Williams led renovation. Indicative agent rates run about 75 euros in summer 2026 and 123 to 125 euros in winter.

Maspalomas Golf

Mackenzie Ross, 1968 · Indicative 2026 from 77 euros in summer

The classic of the south, a 1968 Mackenzie Ross design laid out flat and palm lined beside the protected dunes of Maspalomas, with the lighthouse on the horizon. It is the easiest walk on the island and the round most groups play twice. Indicative 2026 rates are about 77 euros in summer and 123 euros in winter, with multi round cards shared across the Lopesan courses. Our full Maspalomas course profile has the detail.

Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas

Founded 1891 · Par 71 · Indicative club fee 83 to 125 euros

The history round. Founded in 1891, this is the oldest golf club in Spain, a Mackenzie Ross designed par 71 at about 400 meters on the rim of the Bandama caldera, an extinct crater roughly 800 meters across. Club published fees have run 83 euros in low season and 125 in high season, with agent rates near 74 euros for summer 2026. Visitor tee times are weekday windows only; weekends are reserved for members.

Meloneras and Anfi Tauro

Lopesan pairing · Indicative 2026 fees 72 to 145 euros

The two faces of resort golf here. Meloneras Golf runs to the ocean below the Lopesan hotels, with club published 2026 rates of 90 euros in summer and 145 in winter, falling to 72 and 116 for Lopesan guests. Anfi Tauro, a von Hagge, Smelek and Baril design in the volcanic Tauro valley near Mogán, is the island's Arizona moment on the same rate card. El Cortijo near Telde and the nine holes at Las Palmeras round out the island's venues.

Founding dates, designers and layouts verified June 2026. Green fees are indicative club published or agent rates for the 2025 to 2027 seasons and vary by day, time and hotel. Always confirm directly before booking.

A sample five night Gran Canaria trip

Day 1

Arrive and settle in Meloneras

Land and transfer 30 to 40 minutes to a Maspalomas or Meloneras base. Walk the boardwalk to the lighthouse, then take a twilight nine at Meloneras if the legs allow, listed at 59 euros for summer 2026.

Day 2

Maspalomas Golf

The opener almost every group chooses: flat, palm lined Mackenzie Ross golf beside the dunes, ten minutes from the hotels. Book early in winter; this is the island's most requested tee sheet.

Day 3

Canyon golf at Salobre

Head ten minutes into the hills for the island's signature landscape. Play the Old Course, or take the 27 hole loop across the Old and New courses, listed at 94 euros in summer 2026, and lunch on the terrace above the ravines.

Day 4

Anfi Tauro and Puerto de Mogán

Drive 20 minutes west into the Tauro valley for the von Hagge, Smelek and Baril course, target golf between volcanic walls, then late afternoon in Puerto de Mogán, the island's prettiest harbor.

Day 5

Bandama and Las Palmas

The day trip north. A weekday morning tee time at Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas, 35 to 45 minutes up the motorway, puts you on the rim of the Bandama crater at the oldest club in Spain. Lunch at the club, then Vegueta, the old town of Las Palmas, before driving south.

Day 6

Meloneras, then home

A closing 18 at Meloneras Golf, ocean on one side and the hotels on the other, finishing close enough to shower, pack and make an afternoon flight.

Transfers between the southern courses rarely top 20 minutes; only the Bandama day involves real driving. Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas takes visitors on weekday mornings and asks for handicap certificates, so fix that tee time first.

Best time to book

November to April is the season the island was made for, and it prices accordingly: winter fees at the headline courses run roughly 115 to 145 euros and the better hotels fill from the Nordic and German markets months out. Lock rooms and tee times two to three months ahead, earlier for Christmas and February. May to September is the quiet bargain, with summer 2026 fees published at 75 to 90 euros and mornings kept comfortable by the trade winds. Two structural tricks matter: a Lopesan hotel stay cuts fees at Maspalomas, Meloneras and Anfi Tauro, and the shared multi round cards across those courses are usually the cheapest way to build a week. Our guides to Gran Canaria green fees and how to play golf in Gran Canaria go deeper.

We route the Lopesan green fee cards, fix the weekday Bandama tee time first, and hold rooms within walking distance of the first tee. Tell us roughly when and who is traveling, and one concierge costs it to the head and replies within one working day, with no obligation.

Gran Canaria golf package questions

What are the best golf courses in Gran Canaria?

Salobre Golf is the resort centerpiece, with the Old Course of 1999 and Ron Kirby's New Course, back to a full 18 holes at par 70 from winter 2026, both cut through desert canyons above Maspalomas. Maspalomas Golf, a 1968 Mackenzie Ross design beside the dunes, and seaside Meloneras Golf anchor the south coast, with Anfi Tauro, a von Hagge, Smelek and Baril layout in the volcanic Tauro valley, just west. In the north, Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas at Bandama, founded in 1891, is the oldest golf club in Spain.

How much does a Gran Canaria golf package cost?

Operator listed 2026 packages start from around 822 to 1,086 euros per person for five nights with four rounds, and from around 1,313 to 1,538 euros for seven nights with four or five rounds, hotel and green fees included. Indicative 2026 green fees run from roughly 74 to 90 euros in summer and 115 to 145 euros in winter at the headline courses. We are a guide, not an operator, so always confirm directly before booking.

When is the best time for a Gran Canaria golf holiday?

November to April is the classic winter sun window and the peak season for tee times and hotels, so book two to three months ahead. May to September is the value play: fees fall sharply for summer, the Lopesan courses dropped to 77 euros and Salobre to 75 euros for summer 2026 on agent rate cards, and the south coast microclimate keeps mornings comfortable for golf.

Where should you stay for golf in Gran Canaria?

Maspalomas and Meloneras on the south coast are the natural base, with two courses and the beaches in walking or short taxi range and Lopesan guests paying reduced fees on the group's courses. Salobre Hotel Resort, the only 36 hole resort on the island, suits golfers who want to wake up on the property, while Las Palmas works for a city stay built around Bandama and the north.
