The Best Golf Resorts in Ho Chi Minh City

An honest word first: Ho Chi Minh City itself has almost no true resort golf. The clubs inside and around the city are day venues, excellent ones, but you sleep downtown. The real stay and play sits on the coast at Ho Tram, around two and a half hours out, where Greg Norman's dune draped Bluffs anchors a full beach resort, with a pair of Binh Duong properties offering on site lodging much closer in. The dry season runs November to April. Here are the seven that matter, ranked.

How we chose

This list was researched and written by the GolfForKings editorial desk, and every designer, opening year and fee on it was checked against club and booking sources in June 2026. Because the phrase golf resort means something looser here than it does in Florida, we ranked on course quality first, then on whether you can actually sleep on the property, then on how painlessly the place fits into a Saigon based trip. One entry, the Bluffs, is a genuine destination resort. Two more, Song Be and Long Thanh, keep rooms or villas beside the fairways. The rest are day clubs you reach from a city hotel, and we say so plainly in each writeup.

Two practical notes that apply everywhere on this list. Caddies are mandatory at Vietnamese clubs and most published rates fold the caddie fee, and usually a shared cart, into the visitor price; the tip is separate, and 300,000 to 500,000 VND is the accepted range for a good 18 holes, the same convention we describe in our guide to playing golf in Hanoi and the north. And the southern dry season, November through April, is the time to come; May to October brings afternoon downpours that usually pass within an hour. All fees below carry their season and year and are indicative rather than guaranteed, so always confirm directly before booking.

The best around Ho Chi Minh City, ranked

1

The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram

Greg Norman, opened 2014 · 18 holes, par 71 · Ho Tram Strip, Ba Ria Vung Tau, about 2.5 hours from the city · full beach resort

The only entry here that is a destination resort in the full sense, and comfortably the best course in southern Vietnam. Greg Norman's links opened in October 2014 across towering coastal dunes with roughly 50 meters of elevation change, hosted the Asian Tour's Ho Tram Open in 2015 a year later, and has since become a fixture of Golf Digest's list of the World's 100 Greatest Golf Courses. The wind off the East Sea does the defending. The resort below the dunes is the Grand Ho Tram Strip, an integrated beach complex whose flagship 538 room hotel has traded as InterContinental Grand Ho Tram since a rebrand completed at the end of 2020, with a Holiday Inn Resort and the Ixora by Fusion alongside. Published 2025 visitor rates ran 5,445,000 VND on weekdays and 6,050,000 VND on weekends including caddie and cart, with twilight rounds after 3pm around 2.1 million VND, indicative only; always confirm directly before booking. Our verdict: worth building the whole trip around.

Access: public; resort guests get preferred times and packages. Check stay and play rates.

2

Song Be Golf Resort

Established 1992, opened 1994 · 27 holes · Binh Duong, about 45 minutes from District 1 · hotel and villas on site

The oldest golf course in the south of Vietnam and the closest thing to a classic stay and play within an hour of the city. Established in 1992 and open for play since 1994, Song Be runs 27 holes in three nines, Lotus, Palm and Desert, through mature palms and water on the Binh Duong side of town, and the resort half of the name is earned: there are hotel rooms in four categories plus detached garden villas, a pool and a gym beside the clubhouse. The course stays busy, with more than 80,000 rounds recorded in 2025, so book mornings ahead. Visitor rates are published in VND with caddie included and sit far below Bluffs money; confirm the current rate sheet with the club before booking. Our verdict: the sensible base if you want to wake up next to your tee time without leaving the metro area.

Access: public tee times around members; weekdays are easiest. Check tee times.

3

Long Thanh Golf Club

Golfplan, Ron Fream and David Dale · 36 holes, Hill and Lake courses · Dong Nai, about 36 km east · villas on site

The volume play. Long Thanh spreads 36 holes over 350 hectares of plateau above the Dong Nai River, the Hill Course up top with long views and the Lake Course threading the river branches below, both drawn by the Golfplan firm of Ron Fream and David Dale. Luxurious villas, restaurants and a pool make it one of the few properties near the city where staying over is genuinely part of the offer, and the drive from District 1 is manageable at around an hour. Reported weekday rates have run around 1.2 million VND including caddie in recent seasons, indicative only; always confirm directly before booking. Our verdict: 36 holes, a bed on property and honest pricing make this the best value sleep and play near Saigon.

Access: public; book ahead for weekend mornings. Check stay and play rates.

4

Twin Doves Golf Club

27 holes, Luna, Stella and Sole nines · Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong, about 1 hour out · members club with visitor access

The connoisseur's pick of the Binh Duong clubs. Twin Doves rotates three nines, Luna, Stella and Sole, across 122 rolling hectares of countryside outside Thu Dau Mot, and the conditioning and quiet rank with anything this side of Ho Tram. It opened as the first members focused club in the south, so visitor play works around the membership, with weekdays far easier than weekends. The masterplan includes hotel and conference buildings on the estate, but we could not verify current on site lodging for visiting golfers, so confirm with the club and treat it as a day trip from the city until they say otherwise. Rates are published in VND with caddie included; confirm the current sheet when you book. Our verdict: the best pure golf day within an hour of Saigon.

Access: visitor times around members; weekdays recommended. Check tee times.

5

Vietnam Golf and Country Club

West by Chen King Shih, 1994; East by Lee Trevino, 1997 · 36 holes · Thu Duc, about 20 km from the center · day club, no hotel

The grand old club of Saigon golf and the first 36 hole facility in Vietnam. The West Course, opened in December 1994 and designed by the Taiwanese architect Chen King Shih, is the sterner test, narrow through mature trees with well guarded greens; the East, opened in 1997 to a Lee Trevino design, plays wider but defends itself with water and bunkering. There is no hotel, and none is needed: Thu Duc is close enough that you can tee off at dawn and be back downtown for lunch. Visitor rates in recent seasons ran around 105 US dollars on weekdays and 150 on weekends with caddie included, indicative only; always confirm directly before booking. Our verdict: the essential history round of any Saigon golf week.

Access: public tee times available most days. Check tee times.

6

Tan Son Nhat Golf Course

Nelson and Haworth · 36 holes in four nines · beside Tan Son Nhat Airport, inside the city · day club

The only golf actually inside Ho Chi Minh City, and the most surreal setting on this list: 156 hectares of mounded fairways, lakes and big bunkers laid out by Nelson and Haworth hard against the runways of Vietnam's busiest airport, 15 minutes from the terminal and a short ride from most city hotels. Four par 36 nines rotate into different 18 hole combinations, and the floodlights mean play runs deep into the night, which makes it the classic first evening or last morning round of a Saigon trip. No resort, no pretense, just convenience no other club here can touch. Rates are published in VND with caddie included; confirm the current sheet before booking. Our verdict: book it for the day you land or the day you leave.

Access: public, with night golf under lights. Check tee times.

7

Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club

Ron Fream, Golfplan · 18 holes · Dai Phuoc Island, across the river from Nha Be · day club, boat access

The novelty round, and a good one. Jeongsan occupies its own island in the river system southeast of the city, an 18 of two nines named Sun and Moon designed by Ron Fream of Golfplan, stretching past 7,500 yards from the tips with water in play everywhere you look. The romance is the commute: a boat from Bach Dang Wharf in the city center reaches the island in about 30 minutes, against roughly 90 minutes by road. The Korean owned club has been marketed under the Emerald Country Club name recently, so confirm the current name and rate sheet when you book. No lodging for visitors that we could verify; treat it as a day out. Our verdict: take the boat, play the Sun nine first, and you have the most memorable half day in southern golf.

Access: public; arrange the boat transfer when booking. Check tee times.

Designers, opening years, host events and fees verified June 2026 by the GolfForKings editorial desk from club, resort and booking sources. Where a detail could not be verified, we say so and recommend confirming with the club.

Building the trip

The shape of the week writes itself: land at Tan Son Nhat and play the airport course under lights the first evening, take Vietnam Golf and Country Club and Twin Doves as day trips from a District 1 hotel, then transfer to the coast for two or three nights at the Grand Ho Tram Strip and back to back rounds on the Bluffs. If you have more time, Greg Norman's other southern work, the 36 holes at PGA NovaWorld Phan Thiet, sits a little over two hours up the coast road, and the country's deepest stretch of resort golf waits in the center; see our ranking of the best golf courses in Danang and central Vietnam and the course profile of BRG Danang Golf Resort.
