The Best Golf Courses in Ho Chi Minh City

Saigon golf is a happy surprise: 36 hole clubs ten minutes from an international airport, tour pedigree from the nineties, caddies on every bag and fees that undercut the resort coasts. Here are the five rounds that matter, ranked, with the honest one that requires a drive.

How we chose

This ranking covers the courses a traveling golfer staying in Ho Chi Minh City can realistically play, judged on architecture, conditioning, history and the quality of the day out rather than clubhouse marble. The verdicts are ours, formed from course records, tournament history and the reports of golfers we trust, and the fee ranges are indicative 2026 figures gathered in June 2026. Caddies are mandatory at Vietnamese clubs, usually 15 to 20 dollars per round plus tip, and weekend rates run well above weekday ones. Always confirm directly before booking.

One honest note before the list: the single best course in southern Vietnam, The Bluffs at Ho Tram, is not in the city at all but two and a half hours southeast on the coast. We rank it here anyway, because no golf trip to Saigon should skip it. For the wider country, start with our ranking of the best golf courses in Vietnam.

The ranking

1

Vietnam Golf and Country Club

36 holes · Thu Duc, 30 to 45 minutes east · indicative $130 to $180

The grande dame of Saigon golf and the country's first 36 hole club. The West course, a 1994 Chen King Shih design through mature woodland, hosted the Vietnam Open in 1995 and 1997 and remains the city's classic test, tight lines and old trees. The East course, designed by Lee Trevino and opened in 1997, plays wider off the tee but bites back with water, clever bunkering and quick, undulating Bermuda greens. Play both and you have the full Saigon golf education in one membership gate.

2

Tan Son Nhat Golf Course

36 holes · beside the airport · indicative $130 to $180

The most convenient serious golf in Asia, full stop. Nelson and Haworth laid out 36 holes hard against Tan Son Nhat airport, opened in August 2015, and the result is polished modern golf, big greens, generous corridors and immaculate conditioning, ten minutes from the arrivals hall. Jets on the climb out are the soundtrack. It is the round to book for the day you land or the day you leave, and good enough that many visitors come back midweek too.

3

Long Thanh Golf Club

36 holes · about 40 minutes east · indicative $80 to $140

The local favorite, 36 holes built across former rice paddy country toward Dong Nai. The Hill course runs more tree lined and rolling, the Lakes course earns its name with water on most holes, and both share wide fairways, close cut rough and large, true greens. It is the value play of the top tier, the club many Saigon members quietly prefer, and the right call for a 36 hole day where the second round costs less than the first drink back in District 1.

4

Song Be Golf Resort

27 holes · Binh Duong, 30 to 40 minutes north · indicative $80 to $140

One of Vietnam's original courses, open since 1994, and still one of its most pleasant walks: 27 holes in three nines of par 36, threaded through palms, flowering trees and a chain of lakes that gives the place the feel of a garden with golf in it. Conditioning is dependable, the welcome is warm, and the three nine rotation keeps repeat rounds fresh. A sentimental pick at four, but an earned one.

5

The Bluffs Ho Tram

Greg Norman links · about 2.5 hours southeast on the coast · worth every minute

The asterisk and the exclamation point. The Bluffs is not a city course, but Greg Norman's windswept dunescape above the South China Sea is the best round in southern Vietnam and among the best in Asia, a genuine links experience that has hosted international tour golf. Make it the overnight leg of a Saigon trip: drive down, play late, stay at the resort, play again at dawn. Our full Bluffs Ho Tram course guide has the detail.

Ho Chi Minh City golf questions

How much does golf cost in Ho Chi Minh City?

Indicative 2026 fees run roughly 130 to 180 dollars at the top tier, Vietnam Golf and Country Club and Tan Son Nhat, and about 80 to 140 dollars at Long Thanh and Song Be, with weekends meaningfully dearer than weekdays. Caddies are mandatory, usually 15 to 20 dollars plus tip, and carts are standard at most clubs. Always confirm directly before booking.

When is the best time to play golf in Saigon?

The dry season, roughly November to April, is prime: hot but rain free, with firm fairways and reliable mornings. May to October brings the monsoon pattern of intense afternoon downpours, so locals tee off early and are usually done before the sky opens. Dawn times are the smart booking year round; the heat builds fast after ten.

Is Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang better for a golf trip?

Da Nang has the marquee coastal courses and the resort beach week; Saigon has the big city energy, more 36 hole clubs within half an hour and better value fees, plus The Bluffs Ho Tram within an overnight reach. Greedy itineraries do both with a one hour flight between them. Our full Da Nang vs Ho Chi Minh City comparison settles it properly.
