Who this trip suits
This is the Danang coast at its best, built for the golfer who wants championship golf, genuine culture and remarkable value in a single week. The central Vietnamese coast around Danang and Hoi An has quietly become one of Asia's finest golf destinations, with a run of signature courses by some of the biggest names in design, all within about an hour of one beach resort base, and the cost of playing them is a fraction of the equivalent in Europe or America. It suits a group or a couple who like to mix five rounds with a rest day for Hoi An, the Marble Mountains and the food, and who value a long haul trip that genuinely delivers.
The two things to plan around are the season and the caddies. Aim for the dry central coast window of roughly February to August and avoid the autumn typhoon season, and remember that caddies and a shared cart are standard, usually included in the green fee, with a customary tip on top. Get the dates right and the week is a relaxed, varied loop from a single base on the sand.
The 7 day plan
Arrive and settle on the coast
Fly into Danang and settle into a beach resort along My Khe or the Hoi An shoreline, the base for the whole week. Shake off the flight with a swim, a massage and a first dinner of central Vietnamese cooking, and get your bearings on a coast that pairs surf and sand with serious golf. Everything that follows sits within about an hour, so you unpack once and stay put.
BRG Danang, Norman Course
Open with the links that put Danang on the golf map, the Greg Norman designed Dunes layout at BRG Danang Golf Resort, set right on the coast amid natural sand and sea grasses in the style of the British Isles. Firm, windswept and beautifully exposed, it is regularly rated among the best courses in Vietnam, and the resort now adds a separate Jack Nicklaus course alongside if you want a second round here. About twenty minutes from central Danang.
Montgomerie Links Vietnam
A change of character on the Colin Montgomerie design from 2009, a links influenced parkland laid through sandy soil and pines between Danang and Hoi An. Generous off the tee but defended by clever bunkering and quick greens, it is a fair, enjoyable test and good value, an ideal middle round that keeps the legs fresh. Midway between the two towns, a short hop from the resorts.
Hoiana Shores Golf Club
The newest of the marquee courses and arguably the finest, a Robert Trent Jones II links opened on the dunes south of Hoi An, hard against the South China Sea. Big, rolling and thrillingly coastal, with several holes playing along the beach, it has rocketed up the Vietnam rankings since opening and is the round many remember best. About forty minutes south, near the Hoiana resort complex.
Hoi An and the Marble Mountains
Trade the clubs for the culture. Spend the morning at the Marble Mountains, then lose the afternoon in the UNESCO listed old town of Hoi An, a maze of tailor shops, riverside cafes and silk lanterns that light up at dusk. It is one of the most charming towns in Asia and the perfect midweek pause, with a tailor made suit or dress an easy souvenir and the riverside dinners among the best of the trip.
Ba Na Hills Golf Club
The most spectacular round of the week, a Luke Donald design opened in 2016 in a cool, misty valley in the mountains above Danang, below the famous Golden Bridge held by giant stone hands. The elevation changes are dramatic and the air is fresh and clean, a complete contrast to the coastal links, and night golf is available if the heat builds. About forty five minutes inland and uphill from the coast.
Laguna Golf Lang Co
Finish on the Sir Nick Faldo design at Laguna Lang Co, a 6,958 yard course routed through trees, over old rice paddies and along the coast with the mountains behind, north of Danang toward Hue. Natural, varied and framed by the Annamite range, it is a fitting last round and sits handily for a transfer on to Hue and its imperial sights, or back to Danang for the flight home. About an hour north of the city.

Green fees and drive times verified indicatively in June 2026 from course and regional listings; Danang rounds typically fall in the 120 to 190 dollar band including caddie and shared cart, vary by day and season, and change without notice, so always confirm current rates and availability directly before booking. Find a Danang base.
When to go and where to stay
Play the central coast between February and August for dry, warm weather and firm conditions, with spring and early summer the most reliable, and avoid the roughly September to December typhoon season when rain can wash out a trip. Base yourself once, in a beach resort along My Khe in Danang or on the Hoi An shoreline, both within easy reach of every course on the route, and let the week run as a relaxed loop from the sand. Danang's international airport is well connected across Asia, transfers are short and inexpensive, and a driver for the week makes the daily hops effortless. Build in the Hoi An rest day, leave the evenings for the food and the lanterns, and consider tacking on Hue or Hanoi at either end.

Vietnam itinerary questions
What is the best 7 day golf itinerary in Vietnam?
Base a seven day Vietnam trip on the Danang and Hoi An coast, the country's richest seam of golf. Play the Greg Norman links at BRG Danang, the Colin Montgomerie parkland at Montgomerie Links, the Robert Trent Jones II links at Hoiana Shores, the spectacular mountain valley of Ba Na Hills by Luke Donald and the Nick Faldo course at Laguna Lang Co, with a rest day for Hoi An and the Marble Mountains. Every course is within about an hour of Danang. Always confirm current tee times and fees directly before booking.
How much does a golf trip to Vietnam cost in green fees?
Green fees around Danang typically run from about 120 to 190 US dollars per round in 2026, and that figure usually includes a caddie and a shared cart, which are standard in Vietnam, with a customary caddie tip on top of roughly 12 to 20 dollars. Five rounds therefore come in around 700 to 900 dollars per golfer, far less than comparable golf in Europe or America. These are indicative figures, so always confirm current fees directly before booking.
When is the best time to play golf in Vietnam?
For the Danang and Hoi An region, the best window is roughly February to August, when the central coast is dry and warm, with the driest, sunniest months in spring and early summer. The wetter season runs from about September to December, when typhoons can pass through, so it is worth avoiding for a golf trip. Mornings are coolest for play year round. Always confirm conditions and rates before booking.
Do you need a caddie to play golf in Vietnam?
Yes, caddies are standard and effectively required at Vietnamese golf courses, and a shared cart is usual too, with both typically built into the green fee. The caddies are a genuine part of the experience, reading lines, forecaddying and looking after the group, and a tip of around 12 to 20 dollars per caddie is customary on top. It is one reason the all in cost is so reasonable. Always confirm the current policy and what the fee includes before booking.
