7 Day Phuket Golf Itinerary

Seven days on Thailand's golf island, six of its best courses, and a rest day for the beach. Phuket pairs lush, dramatic tropical golf with five star resorts, world class spas and some of the finest food in Asia, all on one compact island. This route builds from a gentle opening round to a grand finish on Blue Canyon's Canyon Course, where a young Tiger Woods won the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1998. Here is the week, with indicative 2026 green fees and drive times.

Who this trip suits

This is the complete Phuket golf week, built for the golfer who wants championship tropical courses, a luxury resort and the option to mix the golf with the beach, the spa and the night markets. Phuket gathers all its best courses on one island, none more than about an hour apart, so you set up in one resort, play six rounds at an unhurried pace and keep a day clear in the middle for Phuket's beaches and old town. It suits a golf group, a couple or a family for whom the golf shares the week with everything else the island offers.

Two things shape the week. The first is the heat and the rhythm: play in the mornings, rest through the hot afternoons, and build the schedule around the Blue Canyon finale. The second is the season, with the dry months from November to April the prime window and the green season far cheaper. Note too that a caddie is compulsory and a cart usually required, both charged on top of the green fee, a small extra that is part of the pleasure of golf here.

The 7 day plan

Day 1Loch Palm

Loch Palm Golf Club

Lakeside parkland · gentle opener · around 2,800 baht

Ease into the week at Loch Palm, a relaxed, well kept parkland course laid out around a large central lake in the hills near Kathu, in the centre of the island. Generous and scenic rather than fierce, it is the ideal first round to find your feet, your caddie and the tropical heat. Indicative 2026 green fees are around 2,800 baht, before the compulsory caddie and cart. About twenty minutes from the main beach resorts.

Day 2Phuket Country Club

Phuket Country Club

The island's established club · central · around 2,800 baht

Play the island's long established club, a mature, tree lined course set around old tin mining lakes in central Phuket, close to Loch Palm. Friendly, walkable and full of character, it is a fine, fair test that rewards a settled game and a second look at the local conditions before the bigger names. Indicative 2026 green fees are around 2,800 baht, before caddie and cart. Central and easy to reach from the west coast resorts.

Day 3Red Mountain

Red Mountain Golf Club

Opened 2007 · former tin mine · around 3,500 baht

The most dramatic round on the island, carved out of a former open cast tin mine when it opened in 2007, with bold elevation changes, exposed red rock faces and tumbling fairways that give the course its name. Spectacular and demanding, it is the standout of the central courses and a genuine highlight. Indicative 2026 green fees are around 3,500 baht, before caddie and cart. Near Kathu, a short drive from Patong.

Day 4Rest day

A day off the course

Beach, spa and old town · no golf

Take the middle of the week away from the golf. Phuket rewards a day spent on the beaches of the west coast, on a longtail boat out to Phang Nga Bay and the islands, in a spa, or wandering the Sino Portuguese streets and markets of Phuket Old Town. A pause here keeps legs fresh for the strong finish to come and lets the trip breathe, which is the whole point of seven days rather than five.

Day 5Laguna Phuket

Laguna Golf Phuket

Par 71 · resort golf by the coast · around 4,500 baht

Return refreshed at Laguna Golf Phuket, a beautifully presented par 71 set within the Laguna resort complex on the north west coast, with rolling fairways, modern bunkering, lagoons and coastal breezes. Smooth, polished and a pleasure to play, it sits among some of the island's best hotels for an easy, luxurious golf day. Indicative 2026 green fees are around 4,500 baht, before caddie and cart. In the Bang Tao and Cherngtalay resort area.

Day 6Blue Canyon Lakes

Blue Canyon Country Club, Lakes Course

Blue Canyon's second course · water in play · around 5,000 baht

The first of two days at Blue Canyon, Phuket's premier golf address, on the Lakes Course, where water comes into play on most holes and the conditioning is immaculate. A worthy championship test in its own right, it sets up the grand finale and lets you settle into the resort before the main event. Indicative 2026 green fees are around 5,000 baht, before caddie and cart. Near the airport, in the north of the island.

Day 7Blue Canyon Canyon

Blue Canyon Country Club, Canyon Course

Yoshikazu Kato, 1991 · Tiger Woods, 1998 · around 6,500 baht

Finish on the island's greatest course, the Canyon Course at Blue Canyon, designed by Yoshikazu Kato and opened in 1991, host of the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1994, 1998 and 2007. It was here that a young Tiger Woods won a famous play off against Ernie Els in 1998. A par 72 of around 7,200 yards laid through old tin workings with deep canyons and water, it is a fitting climax to the week. Indicative 2026 green fees are around 6,500 baht, before caddie and cart, the most expensive and the best round of the trip.

When to go and where to stay

Play the trip in the dry, cool season from November to April for the best weather, firmest courses and the island at its liveliest, accepting peak green fees and resort rates. The green season from May to October is far cheaper and quieter, with golf very playable around short tropical showers. Base yourself on the west coast, around Bang Tao, Surin or Kamala for the smartest resorts and easy reach of Laguna and Blue Canyon, or nearer Patong for a livelier stay close to the central courses. The airport sits in the north near Blue Canyon, which makes a final round there an easy lead in to departure. A driver for the week makes the short hops between courses effortless and leaves you free to enjoy the evenings.

Phuket itinerary questions

What is the best 7 day golf itinerary in Phuket?

A week in Phuket can take in all the island's best courses without rushing, with a rest day for the beach. Open gently at Loch Palm and the established Phuket Country Club, then play the dramatic Red Mountain, take a day off, and build to the finish through Laguna Phuket and the two Blue Canyon courses, closing on the famous Canyon Course where Tiger Woods won the 1998 Johnnie Walker Classic. Always confirm current tee times and fees directly before booking.

How much does a week of golf in Phuket cost in green fees?

Six rounds on this route add up to roughly 24,000 to 26,000 Thai baht per golfer in green fees alone in peak 2026 season, led by Blue Canyon's Canyon Course at an indicative 6,500 baht. Note that in Thailand a caddie is compulsory and a cart is often required, each adding several hundred baht per round on top of the green fee. Phuket is excellent value for golf of this quality. These are indicative figures, so always confirm current fees directly before booking.

When is the best time to play golf in Phuket?

The dry, cool season from November to April is the prime time for golf in Phuket, with the best weather, firmest courses and peak green fees, and it coincides with the island's high season. The green, wetter months from May to October are far cheaper and quieter, with golf still very playable around the tropical showers, which tend to be short. Mornings are best in any season. Always confirm current seasonal rates and availability directly before booking.

Do you need a caddie to play golf in Phuket?

Yes. As across Thailand, a caddie is compulsory at Phuket courses and is one of the pleasures of golf here, with knowledgeable local caddies reading the greens and managing your round. A golf cart is also required or strongly encouraged at most courses. Both are charged on top of the green fee, typically a few hundred baht each plus a gratuity for the caddie. Factor them into the budget, and always confirm current policy and rates directly before booking.
