Green Fees in Bali: What It Costs to Play in 2026

Bali golf is priced like nowhere else in Asia: the published rate is the whole package. At Bali National and New Kuta, 2.3 to 2.6 million rupiah, roughly 140 to 160 dollars, buys the round, the cart, a personal caddie, the tax and the insurance, and the only extra worth budgeting is the caddie tip. There is no seasonal rate card, just weekday against weekend and a twilight discount. Here is every course that matters, with verified 2026 fees.

How Bali pricing works

Three things make Bali's golf economics unusual. First, everything is bundled: the headline figure on every club's rate card already includes the shared cart, a caddie per player, value added tax of 10 to 11 percent and player's insurance, so the number you see is close to the number you pay. Second, the rate cards do not move with the seasons. Clubs vary price by weekday against weekend and public holiday, by visitor category, with domestic players and KITAS residence permit holders paying less at some courses, and by time of day. Third, the island has only a handful of courses, five in practical terms, so a golf trip here is two to four rounds woven into a holiday rather than a 36 holes a day campaign.

The fixed costs to add: a caddie tip of roughly 200,000 to 250,000 rupiah per round, which is customary and earned, since Bali caddies read grain on Paspalum greens better than any rangefinder, plus club hire from about 350,000 to 700,000 rupiah if you travel light. One warning for researchers: the famous Greg Norman course at Tanah Lot, Nirwana Bali, closed in 2017 for a long stalled Trump branded redevelopment and remains shut, whatever older fee guides claim.

Where the value hides

Play the spread

The smart Bali golf budget is a spread, not a repeat. One marquee round at Bali National or New Kuta, one mountain morning at Handara, where two million rupiah buys golf inside a crater rim in 20 degree air, and one fast afternoon at Bukit Pandawa, where the all par 3 format is genuinely championship grade and the round fits between beach and dinner. That trio costs less than two rounds at a Phuket headliner and covers three completely different islands' worth of scenery, a point our Bali vs Phuket comparison makes in full.

Time of day beats time of year

Since the rate cards ignore the calendar, the levers are the clock and the day of the week. Bali National's Super Sundowner from 3 pm cuts the fee by a third, Handara's sunset rate falls under a million rupiah, and weekday play at Bukit Pandawa saves 300,000. The dry season from April to October has the most reliable mornings; in the wet season, tee off early, expect an afternoon downpour, and chase broker promotions, which is where the real seasonal discounting happens. Groups of five or more should ask Bali National for its group rate.

Bali green fee questions

How much does it cost to play golf in Bali?

For the two championship headliners, budget around 2.3 million rupiah at Bali National in Nusa Dua and 2.6 million rupiah at clifftop New Kuta for visiting foreigners, roughly 140 to 160 dollars, with cart, caddie, tax and insurance included. Handara in the highlands runs around 2 million rupiah all in, the 9 hole Bali Beach course in Sanur about 1.1 million, and the all par 3 Bukit Pandawa from roughly 1.6 to 1.9 million through booking agents. Rates are indicative for 2026; always confirm directly before booking.

Do Bali green fees include a caddie and cart?

Almost always. The published rate at Bali National, New Kuta, Handara and Bukit Pandawa is an all inclusive package covering the green fee, a shared cart, a personal caddie per player, government tax of 10 to 11 percent and player's insurance. Bali Beach in Sanur substitutes a caddie and push trolley, as it has no carts. The one cost that is never included is the caddie tip, customarily from about 200,000 to 250,000 rupiah per round, plus club hire if you need it. Always confirm inclusions when booking.

Are Bali green fees cheaper in the wet season?

On paper, no. Bali's clubs publish one rate card year round, with variation by weekday against weekend, by visitor category, and by time of day, such as Bali National's twilight Super Sundowner rate of 1.5 million rupiah. In practice the wet season from roughly November to March brings broker promotions and quieter tee sheets, so deals exist even though official rates do not move. The dry season from April to October is the better golf weather and the busier book. Always confirm current rates before booking.

Is the Trump golf course at Tanah Lot open?

No. The Greg Norman designed Nirwana Bali course beside the Tanah Lot temple, long rated Bali's best, closed in 2017 for redevelopment as a Trump branded resort and had not reopened as of June 2026, with the project repeatedly postponed. Some older guides still list its green fees; ignore them. Bali's current championship golf is Bali National in Nusa Dua, New Kuta at Pecatu, Handara in the mountains, plus the short course at Bukit Pandawa and nine holes at Sanur.
