The Best Golf Courses in Czechia

Czech golf runs from the championship modern courses around Prague to the elegant spa town layouts of West Bohemia, where Edwardian society first teed off. Here are the ten we rate most highly, ranked, with our verdict and how to play each.

How we chose them

Czechia is one of Europe's most underrated and best value golf destinations, and its courses tell two stories. The modern wave, led by the championship Albatross near Prague, has given the country layouts good enough to stage the DP World Tour, polished resort golf built since the 1990s on a scale to rival anywhere in central Europe. The older tradition lives in the spa towns of West Bohemia, where the grand resorts of Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne laid out golf courses for their Edwardian guests more than a century ago, golf and thermal cure in the same elegant breath.

We weighed design quality, conditioning, championship pedigree and the simple pleasure of the round, and we leaned toward courses a visiting golfer can realistically play, since most Czech courses welcome green fee guests. Every fact here, from designers and founding years to host events, was checked at the time of writing. The verdicts are ours, the order reflects our editors' view rather than any single published list, and reasonable people will reorder the top five. If you want any of these built into a costed trip, that is exactly what our concierge does.

The ranking

Albatross Golf Resort

The clear number one in the country and the home of Czech championship golf.
