Who this trip suits

A Danang golf holiday is one of the best value designer golf trips in the world, set on a stretch of central Vietnam coast that has quietly become the finest golf hub in Southeast Asia. Within an hour or so of the beaches around Danang and Hoi An sits a remarkable concentration of courses by the biggest names in design, all immaculately kept, mostly along the sea or beneath the mountains, and all reachable from a single resort base. It suits the buddies group chasing championship golf at a fraction of the western price, the couples trip that wants golf, beach and culture in equal measure, and the seasoned traveller who has done the obvious destinations and wants somewhere genuinely fresh.

The roll call is extraordinary for one short coastline. Ba Na Hills is the first course in the world designed by Luke Donald, BRG Danang offers a Greg Norman links and a Jack Nicklaus course side by side, Montgomerie Links carries Colin Montgomerie's name, Hoiana Shores is Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s first Vietnam design, and Laguna Lang Co toward Hue is rated among Sir Nick Faldo's very best. Add the lantern lit old town of Hoi An and the imperial city of Hue, and the off course days are as memorable as the golf.

Hoiana Shores

Near Hoi An · Robert Trent Jones Jr. · Coastal links

Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s first design in Vietnam, a true links laid along an unspoiled stretch of coast south of Hoi An, with the sea wind, big dunes and firm turf. Part of the Hoiana resort complex and one of the most acclaimed new courses in Asia.

Laguna Lang Co Golf Club, the Sir Nick Faldo course between ocean and mountains in central Vietnam

Laguna Lang Co

Lang Co, toward Hue · Sir Nick Faldo, par 71 · Bay and rice paddy

A Sir Nick Faldo design on a tranquil bay between Danang and Hue, woven through rice paddy, woodland, beach and creeks, and rated by many as the best of Faldo's courses. Worth the slightly longer transfer for the variety and the setting, and a natural addition on a longer trip.

Designers and settings verified June 2026. BRG Danang adds Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus courses, and Montgomerie Links a Colin Montgomerie layout, for a longer stay. Always confirm tee times and fees directly before booking.

Best time to book

Central Vietnam golf is best from about February to August, when the dry, sunny weather settles in and the courses are at their finest, with the spring months especially pleasant before the summer heat builds. The wettest and most storm prone stretch runs from roughly September to December, when typhoons can disrupt the coast, so most golf trips avoid late autumn. Because the destination has grown popular and the marquee courses fill on the best mornings, the prime tee times and the better beach resorts move ahead in the peak dry season. Pin down the resort and the tee times early, and a trip booked in good time secures the courses and the rooms you want at the rate you want.

Danang golf holiday questions

Which golf courses should you play around Danang?

Central Vietnam holds one of the densest clusters of designer golf in Asia. The courses to build around are Ba Na Hills by Luke Donald, BRG Danang with its Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus courses, Montgomerie Links by Colin Montgomerie, Hoiana Shores by Robert Trent Jones Jr., and Laguna Lang Co by Sir Nick Faldo, with the towns of Hoi An and Hue close by. A week plays four or five of them from a single beach base.

How long do you need for a Danang golf trip?

Five to seven nights is ideal. The marquee courses sit within an hour or so of the Danang and Hoi An beaches, so a group can base in one resort and play a different course each morning, keeping afternoons for the beach, the spa or the old town of Hoi An. A longer stay adds Laguna Lang Co toward Hue and a rest day or two.

How much does it cost in 2026?

Indicatively, a week with a beachfront resort, four to five rounds and transfers runs from around 1,800 to 3,200 US dollars per person, rising for the top resorts and private transfers. Green fees, resort grade and season all move the number, so always confirm directly before booking.

Can you arrange the resort, tee times and transfers together?

Yes. Submit a brief and one concierge costs the whole trip to the head, matching the right Danang or Hoi An resort to your group, pre booking the tee times in the best order and arranging the transfers, then routes it to a vetted operator. You book once and the group just plays.
