Who it suits

The Costa del Sol is the most flexible golf trip in Europe. Buddies groups come for the dense cluster of championship courses around Sotogrande; couples and mixed groups come for the resort golf, the beach clubs and the long lunches in Marbella. With short drives between tee times and a huge range of hotels, it works equally well for a blue chip bucket list week and a relaxed buggy and lunch break.

It is also dependable. Spring and autumn bring warm, dry, uncrowded fairways, winter stays mild and playable, and even midsummer offers value and twilight golf. For a first trip abroad or an annual group fixture, few destinations are as easy to plan or as reliable to deliver.

Questions

When is the best time for a Costa del Sol golf holiday?

Spring and autumn are ideal: warm, dry and uncrowded. Winter is mild and popular, while midsummer is hot but offers value and twilight golf. The wider season runs September to June.

How many courses can I play in a week?

Transfers are short, so a group can comfortably play four to six rounds across a week without long drives, usually basing in one resort near Sotogrande or Marbella.

Can you arrange a tee time at Valderrama?

Yes. Valderrama can be folded into a trip through our concierge. Book well ahead in spring and autumn, and note a jacket is required in the clubhouse and a handicap certificate may be requested.
