Bangkok and Pattaya Golf Holidays

Thailand's golf heartland, and the easiest world class golf trip in Asia to assemble. Bangkok stacks championship layouts that have hosted Tiger Woods and the European Tour, Pattaya adds a beach base and Siam Country Club's tournament courses, and the famous Thai caddies, food and value tie it all together. Here is how to build the trip and what it costs in 2026.

Who this trip suits

Bangkok and Pattaya make the natural first golf trip to Asia and an easy repeat for those who already know it. The combination gives you tournament pedigree without tournament prices, immaculate conditioning, the warmest of welcomes and a caddie on every bag. It suits the buddies group chasing value and variety, the couple who want golf in the morning and a city or beach in the afternoon, and the society trip looking for a week of contrasting courses inside a short, easy transfer radius.

The smart play is to split the week between the two. Base in Bangkok for the Thai Country Club and Alpine layouts and the temples, rooftops and markets of the capital, then transfer two hours southeast to Pattaya for Siam Country Club and the eastern seaboard courses on a beach hotel. Four nights covers one base properly; six or seven links both. For the wider picture, see our guide to golf in Thailand and the ranking of the best courses in Thailand.

The courses to build around

Siam Country Club Old Course, the LPGA Honda Thailand host near Pattaya

Siam Country Club, Pattaya

Old Course · LPGA Honda Thailand host

The jewel of the eastern seaboard. The Old Course, sweeping and immaculately conditioned, hosts the LPGA Honda Thailand each year, and the resort adds the Plantation, Waterside and Rolling Hills courses on neighbouring land. A short drive inland from the Pattaya beach hotels, it is the obvious anchor for the southern half of the trip and one of the most complete golf resorts in Asia.

Thai Country Club near Bangkok, water and bunkering on the championship layout

Thai Country Club, Bangkok

Denis Griffith · around 7,100 yards

The course where Tiger Woods claimed his first professional win in Asia at the 1997 Asian Honda Classic, and later host of the Volvo Masters in 2007 and 2008. Denis Griffith built it to championship length with abundant water and sand, a polished, demanding test east of the city. It remains one of the most prestigious rounds in the country and a fitting centrepiece to a Bangkok stay.

Laem Chabang International Country Club, Jack Nicklaus layout between Bangkok and Pattaya

Laem Chabang and the road south

Jack Nicklaus · 27 holes

The natural stop on the transfer between the two cities. Jack Nicklaus designed this twenty seven hole layout in the hills above the coast, its valley, mountain and lake nines tumbling through dramatic terrain. Play it on the way down to Pattaya, then add the established Phoenix Gold and Burapha courses to fill out the eastern seaboard days.

Alpine Golf Club, Bangkok

Ronald Garl · 2000 Johnnie Walker Classic host

One of the capital's most celebrated layouts, designed by Ronald Garl and best known for hosting the 2000 Johnnie Walker Classic won by Tiger Woods. Mature trees, water on many holes and consistently excellent greens make it a favourite among visiting golfers. With Nikanti and the Summit Windmill nearby, the Bangkok side of the trip is never short of a strong morning round.

Designers, host history and access verified June 2026. For round by round costs, see our Thailand green fees guide and the full ranking of the best courses in Thailand.

Best time to book and go

The cool, dry season from November to February is the prime window, with comfortable mornings, low humidity and the courses at their best. It is also the busiest stretch, so book the marquee tee times and good hotels two to three months ahead. March to May is hot but quieter and cheaper, best handled with dawn starts, while the June to October monsoon brings heavy afternoon storms and the lowest green fees of the year for those who do not mind playing early and dodging the rain. Whenever you go, build in a buggy and accept the caddie as part of the experience.

Bangkok and Pattaya golf questions

When is the best time for a golf holiday in Bangkok and Pattaya?

November to February is the cool, dry season and by far the best window, with comfortable mornings and the courses in fine condition. March to May is hot, and the June to October monsoon brings afternoon storms, though many groups still play with early tee times and lower green fees. Always confirm conditions and tee times directly before booking.

Which are the best golf courses near Bangkok and Pattaya?

Near Bangkok, Thai Country Club, the venue for Tiger Woods's first professional win in Asia in 1997, and Alpine Golf Club, which hosted the 2000 Johnnie Walker Classic, lead the way. In Pattaya, Siam Country Club's Old Course hosts the LPGA Honda Thailand, with the Plantation and Waterside courses alongside and Jack Nicklaus designed Laem Chabang nearby.

How much does a Bangkok and Pattaya golf trip cost in 2026?

Indicative third party figures for 2026 run from around $1,000 to $1,600 per person for a value week, roughly $1,800 to $3,000 per person for a four or five star stay across both cities, and higher for luxury hotels. Green fees at the championship courses run indicatively around $100 to $150 on weekdays. These exclude international flights. We never quote our own pricing, so always confirm directly before booking.

Can you combine Bangkok and Pattaya on one golf trip?

Yes, and it is the standard Thai golf week. Pattaya sits about two hours southeast of Bangkok by road, so many groups play the Bangkok courses for a few days, then transfer down to a Pattaya beach base for Siam Country Club and the eastern seaboard layouts. Tell us in your brief and we will route the transfers and tee times sensibly.

Do you need a caddie in Thailand?

Caddies are compulsory at almost every course in Thailand and are one of the pleasures of golf there. Caddie fees and a customary tip are paid on top of the green fee, and buggies are widely available. Factor both into your budget, and always confirm the latest policies and fees directly before booking.
