How to Plan a Golf Trip to Turkey

Turkey is the value champion of premium golf, a sun soaked Mediterranean strip where championship courses, all inclusive five star resorts and short transfers come together for a fraction of what they cost in western Europe. Almost all of it sits in one place, Belek, near Antalya. Planning the trip well is mostly about timing the season, choosing the resort base, booking the marquee courses and getting the simple logistics right. Here is how to put it together, with the courses, the season, the fees, the airport and a sample week.

Start with Belek, your base

The single biggest thing to understand about golf in Turkey is that it is concentrated, overwhelmingly, in Belek, a purpose built resort strip on the Mediterranean coast east of Antalya. Around fifteen courses sit within a short drive of each other here, threaded between umbrella pine forest and a long sandy beach, alongside a wall of large all inclusive five star hotels. Choose your resort, and the golf comes to you. There is a little golf elsewhere, near Bodrum on the Aegean and around Istanbul, but for a dedicated trip Belek is the answer, and the rest of this guide assumes it.

The marquee courses

Lead with the two best. The Montgomerie Maxx Royal, designed by Colin Montgomerie, is wide, generous and beautifully kept, a buggy ride from the beach and the model of the relaxed luxury Belek does so well. Carya, the work of Thomson, Perrett and Lobb, is the region's most distinctive course, a slice of Surrey heathland transplanted to the Med, all purple heather and silver birch, and crucially fully floodlit, so you can tee off at dusk and play deep into a warm evening.

The supporting cast

Around those two sits a deep field. The PGA Sultan and the shorter Pasha course at Antalya Golf Club are long standing tournament venues; the Nick Faldo designed course at Cornelia is a stern, strategic test; and the layouts at Regnum Carya, Gloria, with its Old, New and Verde nines, Sueno and Kaya Palazzo round out a week with ease. The courses are close enough that a planner can string four to six quality rounds together with almost no driving, which is a large part of Belek's appeal.

Timing, booking and the logistics

Time the season to taste. Spring, roughly March to early June, and autumn, September to November, are the prime months, with comfortable temperatures of around 18 to 28 Celsius, the courses in fine condition and the resorts busy. High summer, June to August, is genuinely hot, often above 35 Celsius, so golfers play early in the morning or take advantage of Carya's floodlit evening rounds, with rates easing in the heat. Winter is mild, quiet and the best value, and Belek stays playable when much of Europe is closed. For the best balance of weather and conditioning, aim for April, May or October.

Book the marquee courses first. The best tee times at the Montgomerie, Carya and the tournament venues go quickly in the spring and autumn peaks, so fix those, then build the rest of the week around them. Most golfers stay on an all inclusive basis, and the resort you choose often shapes the golf, with bundled rounds, easy shuttle access to partner courses and the buggy and beach lifestyle that defines the destination. Pin the resort and the headline rounds, and the rest of the week falls into place.

For getting there, almost everyone flies into Antalya airport, around 35 to 45 minutes by road from the Belek strip, with direct seasonal flights from much of Europe. A private transfer or resort shuttle has you on the first tee the same day. Once you are based in Belek you barely need to drive, as the courses cluster within a few minutes of the hotels, which is exactly why it makes such an easy, low stress golf week.

A sample week in Belek

A clean Belek week looks like this. Fly into Antalya, transfer 40 minutes to your resort and warm up with an afternoon or floodlit round at Carya, the most distinctive course on the strip. Over the following days play the Montgomerie Maxx Royal, the PGA Sultan at Antalya Golf Club and the Faldo course at Cornelia, all within a short drive, with a rest day for the beach, the spa or a trip to the Roman ruins at Perge and Aspendos nearby. Add Regnum Carya or Gloria if you want a fifth or sixth round. It is a relaxed, high value week of quality golf wrapped in five star, all inclusive comfort.

That is one shape among many, and the right order depends on your tee times, your resort and the season. The value of a planner here is real: matching the hotel to your group, securing the Montgomerie and Carya slots, and sequencing the rounds so the golf, the heat and the beach all work together. Tell us the dates and the group and we will build it.

Turkey golf trip questions

How much does a golf trip to Turkey cost?

A golf week in Belek is one of the best value premium trips in the world. Indicative 2026 green fees run from around 69 euros in the low season up to about 219 euros at the marquee courses in peak, with most rounds in the 99 to 150 euro range in the shoulder months. Many of the all inclusive resorts bundle unlimited or discounted golf into the package, so the headline cost of a week, flights aside, is often far lower than a comparable trip in western Europe. Always confirm current fees and package terms directly before booking.

When is the best time for a golf trip to Turkey?

The prime windows are spring, roughly March to early June, and autumn, September to November, when temperatures are a comfortable 18 to 28 Celsius, the courses are in fine condition and the resorts are busy. High summer, June to August, is hot, often above 35 Celsius, so play early or take advantage of Carya's floodlit evening golf, while winter is mild, quiet and the best value. For the best balance of weather and conditioning, aim for April, May or October. Always confirm current seasonal rates directly before booking.

Where do you fly for golf in Turkey?

Almost every Turkish golf trip flies into Antalya airport on the Mediterranean coast, which is around 35 to 45 minutes by road from the Belek resort strip where the great majority of the courses sit. Antalya has direct seasonal flights from much of Europe. From the airport a private transfer or resort shuttle has you on the first tee the same day, and once you are based in Belek the courses are clustered within a short drive of each other.

Which courses should you play in Belek?

The marquee names are the Montgomerie Maxx Royal, designed by Colin Montgomerie, and Carya, a floodlit heathland layout by Thomson, Perrett and Lobb that is unlike anything else in the region. Add the PGA Sultan and Pasha courses at Antalya Golf Club, the Nick Faldo designed course at Cornelia, and the layouts at Regnum Carya, Gloria and Sueno for a full week. They sit close together, so a planner can sequence four to six quality rounds with minimal transfers. Always confirm tee times and fees directly before booking.
