How we chose
Belek, on the Mediterranean coast east of Antalya, was purpose built as a golf resort and it shows. A short, flat strip of umbrella pine holds a remarkable density of championship courses, almost all attached to large five star hotels, with reliable warm weather from autumn through spring and golf bundled into the room rate. It is the most efficient multi course golf trip in Europe, where a buggy and a five minute transfer can have you on a different championship layout every day. We have weighed the quality and architecture of the course itself first, then its conditioning and tournament pedigree, and finally the strength of the resort and the experience around it.
The result is a top eight that runs from the tour tested to the merely excellent, because in Belek the standard of conditioning is uniformly high. Montgomerie Maxx Royal, Carya and the Cornelia Faldo course set the design benchmark, the National carries the heritage of the region's first championship course, and the rest deliver the polished, generous resort golf that fills the winter sun itineraries. A week here easily pairs four or five of these with the spa hotels, the all inclusive dining and the floodlit evening nines that make Belek what it is.
The ranking
Montgomerie Maxx Royal
The most acclaimed course on the coast, shaped by Colin Montgomerie with European Golf Design and host of the inaugural Turkish Airlines Open on the European Tour. Wild bunkering, water and a memorable floodlit back nine wind through mature pine forest, with a strategic edge that rewards thought from the tee. Attached to the lavish Maxx Royal resort, it is the course most visitors come to Belek to play.

A genuine point of difference among the parkland resorts and a course the purist will single out.

Where they sit on the map
Belek's great advantage is its compactness. The whole golf strip runs along a few miles of coast between Belek town and the Acisuyu river, so every course on this list sits within a fifteen to twenty minute transfer of any of the resort hotels. That makes a five round, five course week not just possible but easy, with floodlit evening nines at Carya and Montgomerie extending the day. Antalya airport is about forty minutes to the west, and the old city and the ruins of Aspendos and Perge are close by for a non golf afternoon. Almost every itinerary bases at one resort hotel and plays out across the neighbouring courses by buggy and short shuttle.

Belek golf questions
What is the best golf course in Belek?
Montgomerie Maxx Royal, the course shaped by Colin Montgomerie with European Golf Design and host of the first Turkish Airlines Open, is the most acclaimed layout on the coast. Carya, Peter Thomson's heathland design, and the Cornelia Faldo course run it close, with the original National Golf Club still among the best three decades after it opened.
When is the best time to play golf in Belek?
The peak golf seasons are autumn, roughly October and November, and spring, March to May, when the Mediterranean coast is warm and dry but not too hot. Winter golf is popular and mild, which makes Belek one of Europe's leading winter sun destinations, while the high summer is generally too hot for comfortable play. We are a guide, not an operator, so always confirm current fees and conditions directly before booking.
Are green fees included in Belek hotels?
Often, yes. Most of the leading Belek resorts bundle a number of rounds on their own and neighbouring courses into golf packages or all inclusive room rates, which is one reason the destination is such good value. Standalone green fees are also available, and the exact arrangement varies by hotel and season, so confirm what is included before you book.
