The Best Golf Courses in Chile

Golf in Chile gathers around Santiago and the central Pacific coast, played against the snow capped wall of the Andes. Many of the best courses are private, but the quality at the top is real. Our ranked six, with the verdict on each, the designers where known and indicative 2026 green fees.

How we ranked them

Chile is a long, narrow country, and its golf is concentrated in the temperate belt around Santiago and on the nearby Pacific coast at resorts such as Santo Domingo and Vina del Mar. The settings are the draw, fairways framed by the Andes inland and by pine, eucalyptus and the ocean on the coast. We weight the quality of the holes, the condition and the setting, and we are honest that several of the finest clubs are private members establishments where access is easiest as part of an arranged trip. For most visitors the natural base is Santiago, with a coastal day or two added on.

The ranking

1

Las Brisas de Chicureo, Valle Course

Stuart Moore, Gage Davis Associates, 1997 · Colina, near Santiago

The best course in Chile and the country's only 36 hole facility, set about thirty kilometres north of Santiago. The premier Valle layout was routed by Stuart Moore of Gage Davis Associates in 1997, a modern, generous design that uses the rolling terrain and the Andes backdrop to fine effect. With the second course alongside it is the best golf day in the country.

Indicative 2026 green fee around $90 to $130. Always confirm directly before booking.
2

Club de Golf Los Leones

Founded 1910 · Santiago

One of Chile's most historic and exclusive clubs, founded in 1910 and laid out in the heart of Santiago with the Andes rising behind the closing holes. A mature, leafy parkland of real pedigree, it has hosted the Chile Open and remains the establishment course in the capital. A private members club, so access is by introduction, typically as part of an arranged itinerary.

3

Hacienda Chicureo

Opened 2002 · Colina, near Santiago

A bold, modern course north of Santiago that opened in 2002, a par 72 stretching beyond 7,300 yards from the tips and counted among the most striking layouts in South America. Big, contoured and dramatic against the mountains, it suits the lower handicap visitor looking for a serious test on a Santiago golf trip.

Indicative 2026 green fee around $80 to $120. Always confirm directly before booking.
4

Rocas de Santo Domingo

Coastal woodland, 1940s · Santo Domingo

Formed in the early 1940s near the mouth of the Maipo river on the Pacific coast southwest of Santiago, this is the classic Chilean coastal round. Mature pine and eucalyptus frame an undulating layout that blends seaside air with a parkland feel, characterful and quietly demanding. A favourite weekend escape from the capital and a fine reason to play the coast.

Indicative 2026 green fee around $70 to $100. Always confirm directly before booking.
5

Marbella Country Club

Resort parkland · Maitencillo, Pacific coast

The golf anchor of the Marbella resort on the coast north of Santiago near Maitencillo, a well kept resort course that pairs golf with tennis, spa and the beach. Rolling and green with ocean glimpses, it is the easiest coastal course to combine with a relaxed family or group stay, and the natural choice for travellers wanting golf without joining a private club.

Indicative 2026 green fee around $70 to $100. Always confirm directly before booking.
6

Granadilla Country Club

Hilly parkland, roots to 1897 · Vina del Mar

One of the oldest golf names in Chile, with roots back to 1897, set in the hills above the resort city of Vina del Mar on the Pacific coast. A traditional, hilly parkland winding through mature woodland with panoramic valley and sea views, it is the standout round on the Valparaiso coast and a good pairing with a stay by the ocean.

Indicative 2026 access on application; private members club, by introduction. Always confirm directly before booking.
