Nevada Golf Packages and Breaks: Where to Stay and Play
Nevada packages three completely different golf trips inside one state line: the Las Vegas spectacle built around Shadow Creek and Cascata, the red canyon golf of Mesquite anchored by Wolf Creek, and an alpine summer escape at Lake Tahoe. Here is how to put each one together, what the rounds cost in 2026 and where the hotel choice quietly decides which courses you can even play.

Who a Nevada package suits
Groups, mostly. Nevada is the easiest American golf trip to organize for six, eight or twelve players: one airport, casino resorts with limitless rooms and restaurants, and a tee sheet that runs from under 100 dollars to the most expensive public round in the country. The buddies crowd anchors in Las Vegas or Mesquite. The bucket list player builds the trip around Shadow Creek, which requires an MGM Resorts hotel stay, so the package and the golf are literally the same decision. And in summer, when southern Nevada bakes, Edgewood Tahoe offers a completely different state: pines, snowmelt blue water and mountain air.
This page covers how to structure the package. For ready made Las Vegas trips see our Las Vegas golf holidays page, and for the statewide course rundown start with the Nevada destination hub.
The courses to build a package around
Shadow Creek, North Las Vegas
The trophy. Tom Fazio built Shadow Creek in 1989 for casino magnate Steve Wynn, conjuring a forested North Carolina valley out of bare desert, and it has been the most exclusive feeling public round in America ever since. Access runs through MGM Resorts: stay at an MGM property such as Bellagio or ARIA, book through the hotel, and a limousine collects you for the round. The 2026 fee is 1,250 dollars, the highest publicly bookable green fee in the country. If Shadow Creek is the point of the trip, the hotel side of your package picks itself.
Cascata, Boulder City
The other half of the Las Vegas heavyweight double. Rees Jones built Cascata in 2000 into the rock above Boulder City, 30 minutes from the Strip, with a 400 foot mountain waterfall that runs through the clubhouse. It is dramatic, immaculately kept and far quieter than the Strip courses. Pricing is dynamic and premium, with recent winter rates around 300 dollars and peak rates well above; confirm when booking. Pair it with Shadow Creek for the full spectacle, or with Paiute for a more affordable second round.
Wolf Creek, Mesquite
The course your group will talk about for years. Wolf Creek drops emerald fairways through red sandstone canyons 80 minutes northeast of Las Vegas, and no photograph oversells it. The 2026 rate card runs from roughly 390 to 420 dollars in peak spring season down to 95 to 175 dollars in summer, carts included, which makes a summer dawn patrol round one of the great value spectacles in golf. Mesquite lodging is cheap, the supporting courses are solid, and the whole town works as a standalone budget break.
Las Vegas Paiute, Wolf Course
The best conventional golf in the Las Vegas area. The Paiute resort, 25 minutes northwest of the Strip on tribal land, holds three Pete Dye courses, and the Wolf, from 2001, is the headliner: at 7,604 yards the longest course in Nevada, with an island green par 3 at the 15th. No housing, big desert views to the Spring Mountains and sensible fees make it the staple round of most Vegas golf packages. Read our full Paiute Wolf course profile.
Edgewood Tahoe, Stateline
The summer answer. On the south shore of Lake Tahoe, Edgewood is a 1968 Tom Fazio family design (George Fazio, with Tom involved in later work) famous as the host of the American Century Championship celebrity event each July, with closing holes running along the lake itself. The season is roughly May to October, peak fees are premium resort level, and the package logic flips: this is a cool weather mountain trip for exactly the months when southern Nevada is too hot to walk.

When to book and when to go
October to May is the season in southern Nevada, with March and April the sweet spot and the busiest tee sheets; book marquee rounds six to eight weeks out, and Shadow Creek as soon as the hotel is confirmed. Summer flips the value equation: Wolf Creek under 200 dollars and empty Strip area courses at dawn, provided your group can finish by 11 in the morning. Lake Tahoe runs on the opposite calendar, May to October only. Big fight and convention weekends in Las Vegas move hotel prices violently, so pick your dates around the city's calendar, not just the weather.

Nevada golf package questions
How much does a Nevada golf package cost?
It depends almost entirely on which courses anchor it. Third party operators package Las Vegas hotel and golf breaks across a huge range because green fees themselves run from under 100 dollars in summer at Mesquite courses to 1,250 dollars at Shadow Creek in 2026. A value Mesquite break costs a fraction of a Strip trip built around Shadow Creek and Cascata. Package prices are third party and seasonal; always confirm directly before booking.
How do you get on Shadow Creek?
Stay at an MGM Resorts property. Shadow Creek, the Tom Fazio course from 1989 north of the city, takes tee times only through MGM Resorts hotels such as Bellagio, ARIA and MGM Grand, with limousine transfer included in the experience. The 2026 green fee is 1,250 dollars, the highest publicly bookable fee in America. Build the hotel side of the package around an MGM property and the round becomes bookable. Always confirm directly before booking.
Is Mesquite worth it for a golf trip?
Yes, especially for groups watching the budget. Mesquite, 80 minutes northeast of Las Vegas, is built around Wolf Creek, one of the most photographed courses in America, where 2026 fees run from around 390 to 420 dollars in peak spring down to 95 to 175 dollars in summer. Surrounding courses are cheaper still, and lodging costs far less than the Strip. Always confirm rates directly before booking.
When is the best time for a Nevada golf trip?
October to May for southern Nevada: winter days are mild and spring is peak. Summer in Las Vegas and Mesquite regularly exceeds 105 degrees Fahrenheit, which is exactly when fees collapse for early morning rounds. Lake Tahoe flips the calendar: Edgewood Tahoe is a summer destination, roughly May to October, with snow the rest of the year.
