Who this trip suits
Las Vegas is the easiest big golf trip in North America to organize: one airport, a strip of hotels within minutes of each other, and a ring of desert courses that range from blue collar value to the most expensive tee time in the country. For a group it does the thing a buddies trip needs to do, which is keep everyone happy whether they came for the golf, the tables or the steak.
- Groups who want one marquee bucket list round and several strong, fairly priced courses around it.
- Mixed budgets and mixed handicaps, with everything from forty dollar municipal golf to a four figure invitation in one city.
- Long weekend travelers who want golf by day and the Strip, the fights or a show by night, with no transfers between them.
- Anyone chasing reliable winter sun and firm desert turf a short flight from the West Coast.

The courses to build around
Every fact below was checked at the time of writing. Green fees are indicative and seasonal, so treat them as a guide rather than a quote, and always confirm directly before booking.

Shadow Creek
The fantasy course Steve Wynn and Tom Fazio carved from flat desert in 1989, a pine and stream lined parkland that feels nothing like Nevada. Open Monday to Thursday to MGM hotel guests, caddie and limo included.
Wynn Golf Club
The only course on the Strip itself, reborn in 2019 behind the Wynn with a waterfall finish. Forecaddies, premium service and tee times by phone, priority to hotel guests.
Cascata
A Rees Jones design draped over the foothills southeast of town, named for the waterfall that runs through the clubhouse. Caddie, cart and clubhouse access included in the fee.
TPC Las Vegas
The most accessible championship test in the city, a desert canyon layout in Summerlin that has hosted tour golf. Open to the public and the value pick of the marquee names.
Las Vegas Paiute
Three Pete Dye courses on tribal land half an hour north, wide and dramatic against the Spring Mountains. A favorite for a group day out away from the Strip.
Bali Hai
A tropical themed course at the south end of the Strip, palms, white sand and water, and the most convenient round in the city, steps from Mandalay Bay.
A sample structure
One way to shape a four night Vegas golf weekend for a group. We tune the order to your tee times, hotel and how hard the group wants to push.
Fly in, check into a Strip hotel and warm up with a convenient afternoon round at Bali Hai, minutes from the door, then dinner and the tables.
The big one. An early limo to Shadow Creek for the marquee round with caddies, back to the Strip by mid afternoon for a long lunch and a show.
Drive out to Las Vegas Paiute or Cascata for the desert and mountain scenery, a relaxed group day with lunch at the turn, then a quieter night.
A final morning at TPC Las Vegas or the Wynn course close to town, settle the bets over lunch, then fly home.

Best time to go and to book
October to April is the prime window, with warm, dry days, cool evenings and the firm desert turf at its best. Spring and autumn carry the highest green fees and the busiest tee sheets, so book Shadow Creek and the Wynn course as early as you can, ideally as soon as your hotel is confirmed, since both run on limited tee times tied to the resorts. Summer is very hot, often well above 40 degrees Celsius by midday, but rates fall sharply and an early tee time keeps a budget trip playable. Whatever the season, lock the marquee round first and build the rest of the schedule around it.

Las Vegas buddies golf, answered
How much is a buddies golf trip to Las Vegas?
It depends entirely on the courses. A week mixing strong public layouts such as TPC Las Vegas, Bali Hai and Las Vegas Paiute runs from roughly 2,000 US dollars a head excluding flights. Add Shadow Creek, where the 2026 weekday fee for MGM hotel guests is 1,250 US dollars including caddie and limo, or the Wynn course at around 550 US dollars, and a marquee long weekend can reach 4,000 to 6,000 US dollars per head. Always confirm directly before booking.
Can you play Shadow Creek without being a member?
Yes. Shadow Creek is open Monday to Thursday to guests staying at an MGM Resorts hotel, with the round including a caddie and a round trip limousine transfer. Friday to Sunday play is by invitation only. Tee times are limited and booked through the hotel, so reserve well ahead.

How many rounds can you fit into a Las Vegas golf weekend?
Most groups play one round a day over three or four days, leaving afternoons and evenings for the Strip. Keen groups add a twilight nine. Courses such as Bali Hai and the Wynn are minutes from the hotels, while Shadow Creek and Las Vegas Paiute sit further out, so build drive time into the schedule.
