New Golf Courses in Cyprus, 2026
Cyprus has a genuine new course to talk about. Limassol Greens, the island's first championship layout built inside a city, brought all 18 holes into play across the 2026 season and held its official inauguration in June. Here is what is new for the year.

Limassol Greens completes the island's first city course
Most years the Cyprus golf story sits up in the Paphos hills, around the established trio of Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley and Minthis. In 2026 it shifts east to Limassol, where Limassol Greens has become the island's first championship course set within a city. Designed by the American architect Cabell B. Robinson, the par 71 layout opened in stages from autumn 2025 and brought its full 18 holes into play through the 2026 season, with an official inauguration held in June 2026.
The course is the centrepiece of a large integrated resort that also folds in a clubhouse, landscaped parkland and a residential community, part of a wider push to spread Cyprus golf beyond Paphos. Robinson, whose European work includes the much praised La Reserva and Finca Cortesin, has shaped a walkable parkland course played on bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways, built to hold up in the warm Limassol climate for much of the year.

Inside the 2026 story
A championship course inside a city
Limassol Greens breaks the Cyprus mould. The island's other championship courses sit in the resort hills above Paphos, a drive from the main hotels, while Limassol Greens is built on the edge of the city itself, the rare championship layout you can reach in minutes from a Limassol hotel. That accessibility, paired with an 18 hole par 71 and a full resort around it, is what makes it the most significant new opening in Cypriot golf for years.
Who designed it
The course is the work of Cabell B. Robinson, the American architect who spent years with Robert Trent Jones before building a celebrated European portfolio of his own, including La Reserva de Sotogrande and the Finca Cortesin course that hosted the 2023 Solheim Cup. At Limassol Greens he has produced a strategic, walkable parkland test on bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways, designed for year round play.
The rest of the Cypriot scene
Beyond Limassol, 2026 is a year of established excellence rather than new arrivals. The Paphos trio of Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley and Minthis still anchors most golf trips, with the courses of Northern Cyprus adding a separate option for those crossing the line. We could not confirm another brand new championship course opening on the island this year, so the new story is firmly Limassol Greens.
Our take
Our take for 2026 is to treat Limassol Greens as a reason to base part of a Cyprus trip in the city rather than only in the Paphos hills. A couple of days at Limassol Greens paired with the established Paphos courses makes for a strong, low travel week, and a brand new Cabell Robinson course inside a city is a genuine novelty in Mediterranean golf.
As with any course still bedding in, confirm tee access and green fees directly before you build a trip around it. Our Cyprus destination hub, the best courses in Cyprus list and our Cyprus golf holidays page are the places to anchor the plan, and our team can fold Limassol Greens into an itinerary as it settles into its first full seasons.
