The Best Golf Courses in Goa
Let us be straight with you: Goa is one of the world's great beach destinations and one of its smallest golf ones. India's holiday coast has exactly one course of full standard, the par 36 Lalit Golf Greens beside Rajbaga Beach in the far south, plus a handful of short resort layouts that exist to fill a happy hour between the pool and the seafood shack. Here are the four places you can actually swing a club in Goa, ranked honestly, with access and 2026 fee guidance for each.

How we chose
Most best of lists pad. This one cannot, because Goa has almost no golf to pad with. We verified every course on this page in June 2026 and included only layouts that exist, take a real golf swing and can be played by a visitor, whether as a walk in guest or a hotel resident. That gives us four: one genuine nine of championship character at The Lalit in Canacona, and three short resort courses strung along the Salcete beach strip at Cavelossim, Benaulim and Varca. A long discussed luxury golf resort project at Tiracol in the far north has faced years of local opposition and no course has opened there; if that changes we will update this page. Anything else you see marketed as Goa golf is a putting lawn or a driving net.
The ranking weighs the golf itself first, then setting and access. None of these courses justifies a flight on its own, and we say so; what they offer is the rare pleasure of golf at the edge of the Arabian Sea on a trip that is really about beaches, Portuguese era villages and lunch that lasts until sunset. All fees are indicative for 2026, swing between the November to February high season and the monsoon months, and move without notice; always confirm directly before booking. The four best, ranked
The Lalit Golf Greens, The Lalit Golf and Spa Resort Goa
The only real golf course in Goa, and a lovely one. The Lalit's nine runs along Rajbaga Beach in the quiet far south, with the Sahyadri hills behind, the Talpone river alongside and the Arabian Sea filling the view from the greens. It plays to par 36 with multiple tee positions per hole, so a second loop from different blocks makes a legitimate 18 of roughly 5,850 yards. Conditioning is honest resort standard rather than manicured, and the sea breeze does the defending. Visitors in early 2026 reported nine hole fees and caddie hire at a few hundred rupees each, remarkable value by any measure; rates vary by season and residency, so always confirm directly before booking.
Access: book direct or stay at the resort. Check tee times.
The St. Regis Goa Resort
The course with the strangest scorecard in India: twelve par 3 holes threaded through 49 acres of lagoons and coconut palms at the tip of the Mobor peninsula, where the Sal river meets the sea. The property spent decades as The Leela Goa before its rebirth as the St. Regis, and the little course survived the rebrand. It is short, pretty and entirely without pretension, the kind of golf you play barefoot in spirit if not in fact. Play is for hotel guests at an additional charge, with clubs available; confirm current arrangements with the resort. As a guest experience attached to one of South Goa's grandest addresses, it earns its place.
Access: with a resort stay; confirm with the club.
Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Goa
The Taj group's Mediterranean styled flagship at Benaulim spreads across 56 acres of gardens a short walk from the sand, and tucked into them is a nine hole pitch and putt course plus a small practice pitching area. Nobody will mistake it for tournament golf, and the Taj does not pretend otherwise; it is a wedge and a putter, a drink afterward and one of the best run hotels on the coast around you. For a family trip where one or two people want to keep the swing alive, that combination beats a serious course an hour's drive away. Course use is part of the guest experience; confirm details and any charges with the hotel when booking.
Access: hotel guests; confirm with the club.
Caravela Beach Resort
The third of the Salcete strip's short courses sits within the Caravela's 23 acre estate behind Varca Beach, a compact nine wound between the pool, the palms and the dunes line. It is the most modest layout on this list and the right expectations matter: think holiday golf measured in smiles rather than yardage, with the sea close enough to hear. The resort maintains the course for its guests and packages it with stays; policies on outside players change, so confirm with the club before turning up with a tee booked in your head. As a cheerful add on to a Varca beach week, it does exactly what it should.
Access: resort guests first; confirm with the club.
Courses, hole counts and access verified June 2026 from club, resort and traveler sources; fees are indicative for 2026 and subject to change without notice. Always confirm directly before booking. All four courses sit in South Goa within about 45 minutes of each other, from Varca down to Canacona.
Plan a Goa golf and beach trip
Tell us roughly when and who is traveling, and one concierge builds the South Goa week around the right beach hotel, books The Lalit round and prices the whole trip honestly, including whether your golf appetite really wants Goa or a stop in Dubai on the way. We reply within one working day, with no obligation.
Building the trip
Treat Goa as a beach week with golf in it, not a golf week with beach in it. Base in the south, anywhere from Benaulim to Canacona, and the whole list above sits within an easy taxi ride; November to February brings dry days, sea breezes and the season's best light, while the June to September monsoon closes the conversation. Golfers who want more than one serious round should be honest about the math: the region's real golf depth lies a flight away, and our rankings of the best golf courses in Dubai and the best golf courses in Thailand show what a stopover can add. For trips built on the same sand plus golf formula that Goa hints at, see the best golf and beach combinations and the best golf courses in Mauritius, and compare what a round really costs across the region in our Thailand green fees guide. The wider field of the best golf resorts in Asia puts Goa's modest offer in fair context.
