Scottsdale and Phoenix Golf Packages and Breaks: Where to Stay and Play

The Valley of the Sun holds more than two hundred courses, and the smart way to buy them is as a package. Bundled rooms and tee times routinely beat winter rack rates, and the whole Valley, from north Scottsdale to Fort McDowell to the East Valley, sits within an hour of one base. Here is the package math, where to stay and play, and what it costs in 2026.

Who this trip suits, and why a package

This page is for the group that thinks in per night numbers. Scottsdale and Phoenix run some of the most aggressive dynamic pricing in golf, so the same marquee round can cost $150 in June and $550 in March. Packages flatten that curve. Operators such as Golfpac Travel and Golf Zoo bundle blocks of rooms and tee times below winter rack, while resorts like the Westin Kierland and the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort fold a daily round into the room rate. For eight golfers playing five rounds, packaging well versus booking piecemeal is often a four figure difference per head.

It also suits anyone who wants the whole Valley, not just the famous corner. North Scottsdale gets the headlines, and our Scottsdale golf holidays page covers that classic trip in full. A package trip widens the lens: Coore and Crenshaw value at Talking Stick, the casino resort deal at We-Ko-Pa, muni gold at Papago, Ak-Chin Southern Dunes south of the city, even a dude ranch round out at Wickenburg. Same sunshine, very different invoices. For the full lay of the land, start with our Scottsdale and Phoenix destination hub.

The courses and bases to build a package around

TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course, home of the WM Phoenix Open, with the McDowell Mountains behind

TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course

Weiskopf and Morrish, 1986 · the splurge round

Home of the WM Phoenix Open and the roaring par 3 16th, and the round every Valley package is priced around. Winter 2026 fees run from roughly $400 to $550, so operators position it as the one premium round in a mixed week, often paired with the adjoining Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Read our TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course profile.

Troon North, Monument and Pinnacle

Weiskopf and Morrish, 1990 and 1996 · 36 holes

The course that defined Scottsdale desert golf, two Weiskopf and Morrish layouts threaded through granite boulders at the foot of Pinnacle Peak. Winter fees sit around $300 and up, but Troon North appears in nearly every premium operator bundle and its summer rates drop to a fraction of that, which makes it the classic swing piece in the package math.

We-Ko-Pa, Saguaro and Cholla

Coore and Crenshaw, 2006 · Scott Miller, 2001 · stay and play anchor

Thirty six holes of pure desert golf at Fort McDowell with no houses in sight, the walkable Coore and Crenshaw Saguaro the pick. The on site We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort runs the best published stay and play in the Valley: the 2026 summer package, a night plus a round, listed near $324, with winter built the same way at seasonal rates.

Grayhawk, Raptor and Talon

Fazio · Graham and Panks · NCAA host 2021 to 2023

Two championship courses ten minutes from the Kierland and Princess resorts, host of three straight NCAA Championships from 2021 to 2023. Peak fees run around $250 a round, summer falls toward $70 to $100, and Grayhawk sits in nearly every operator bundle, the dependable second tier behind TPC and Troon North.

The resort stay and play bases

Kierland · Fairmont Princess · Boulders · on site golf

North Scottsdale holds the deepest bench of golf resorts in America. The Westin Kierland's GolfEscape rate folds 18 holes a day into the room from around $450 a night in 2026, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess sits beside TPC, and the Boulders bundles its two courses up at Carefree. We rank them in our guide to the best golf resorts in Scottsdale and Phoenix.

The value tier: Talking Stick, Papago, Ak-Chin and Wickenburg

Coore and Crenshaw · muni gold · the wider Valley

This is where packages get clever. Talking Stick's two Coore and Crenshaw courses run roughly $90 to $179 in 2026, Papago in Phoenix is under $80, and Ak-Chin Southern Dunes swings from about $33 in summer to $286 in season. Out at Wickenburg, about an hour and a half northwest, Los Caballeros pairs a top ranked course with the Rancho de los Caballeros dude ranch, open October to May. Two of these in a week pays for the TPC round.

Best months and booking windows

January to April is peak, warm and dry with the courses at their winter best, and the prices match. The WM Phoenix Open in early February is the most expensive week of the year, so unless the tournament is the point, plan around it. The smartest winter windows are November to mid December and late April, peak conditions a step below peak pricing. Summer, June through September, is fierce heat but extraordinary value, dawn rounds at marquee courses for less than a third of winter rates. One trap: late September to mid October is overseeding season, when courses close in rotation for two to three weeks, so a fall package needs routing around the closures.

The winter season effectively sells in the fall. Operators release winter blocks from late summer, and groups chasing February and March should have rooms held by October and marquee tee times confirmed 60 to 90 days out. Summer needs almost no lead time at all, which is part of its charm.

Scottsdale and Phoenix package questions

What does a Scottsdale and Phoenix golf package cost in 2026?

Indicative 2026 figures run from around $300 to $450 per person per night for a summer or value stay and play with a round a day, through roughly $350 to $550 for a midrange winter package, up to $600 to $900 for a premium north Scottsdale trip built around TPC Scottsdale and Troon North. A six night winter trip with five rounds typically lands between roughly $2,500 and $5,000 per person before flights. We never quote our own pricing, so always confirm directly before booking.

Is a package cheaper than booking Scottsdale tee times separately?

In winter, usually yes. The Valley runs aggressive dynamic pricing, so a marquee round booked ten days out in March can cost double its package rate. Operators such as Golfpac Travel and Golf Zoo bundle blocks of rooms and tee times below rack, and the Westin Kierland GolfEscape folds a daily round into the room rate from around $450 a night in 2026. In summer the gap narrows because everything is cheap. Always compare against current direct rates and confirm before booking.

When is the best value on a Scottsdale and Phoenix golf package?

January to April is peak, with the highest rates around the WM Phoenix Open in early February. The value windows are November to mid December, May, and the summer months of June to September, when stay and play rates fall to a fraction of winter, such as the 2026 We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort summer package at around $324 a night including a round. Avoid late September to mid October, when courses close in rotation for overseeding. Always confirm seasonal rates directly before booking.

Where should a golf package be based: Scottsdale, north Phoenix or the East Valley?

North Scottsdale is the classic base, closest to TPC Scottsdale, Grayhawk and Troon North with the deepest bench of golf resorts. Old Town suits groups who want the nightlife, with Talking Stick and Papago minutes away. Fort McDowell and the East Valley, anchored by the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, is the best per night value. Everything sits within about an hour by car, so one base covers the whole trip.

Does overseeding affect a fall golf trip to Phoenix?

Yes. Valley courses overseed their summer Bermuda grass with winter rye from late September into mid October, which means closures of two to three weeks per course and cart path rules after reopening. Closures are staggered, so a fall package still works if your operator routes around them. For guaranteed peak conditions come from November onward, and always confirm overseeding schedules directly before booking.
