The Best Golf Resorts in Scottsdale and Phoenix
The Valley of the Sun is the densest concentration of resort golf in America: more than 200 courses, 300 days of sunshine, and a hotel scene built around the game. You can sleep beside the stadium course that hosts the loudest tournament in golf, play 36 Weiskopf and Morrish holes from a Four Seasons, or chase pure Coore and Crenshaw desert golf with no houses in sight. November to April is the season, January to April the peak. Here are the five resorts that matter, ranked.

How we chose
This list was researched and written by the GolfForKings editorial desk, and every designer, opening year and fee on it was checked against resort, course and ranking sources in June 2026. In a market with this much choice, we ranked complete experiences: the quality of the marquee golf first, then how well the hotel and the courses actually work together, then the depth of the rotation within a 20 minute drive. Every entry is open to the public or to resort guests, with no member introductions required.
Pricing here swings harder by season than anywhere in American golf. Premium championship courses run roughly 250 to 500 dollars in the January to April peak, with the TPC Stadium course topping 550, while summer rates drop 60 to 70 percent for those willing to tee off at dawn. The fees quoted carry their season and year and are indicative rather than guaranteed, so always confirm directly before booking, and reserve peak season tee times 60 to 90 days out.
The best in the Valley, ranked
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess / TPC Scottsdale
The bucket list pairing. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess sits directly beside TPC Scottsdale, whose Stadium Course, designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish and opened in 1986, has hosted the WM Phoenix Open since 1987 and its infamous coliseum 16th, where 20,000 fans roar at a par 3 every February. The rest of the year the course is simply an excellent, immaculate desert tournament layout that anyone can book, with the Champions course alongside as the value second round. The 2026 Stadium green fee ran 399 to 550 dollars in peak season and around 303 in summer, indicative only; always confirm directly before booking. The Princess itself is a five star machine of pools, restaurants and spa. Our verdict: the most complete famous course stay in the desert.
Access: public; book 60 to 90 days out in peak season. Check tee times.
Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North
Desert golf's gold standard, with a Four Seasons attached. Troon North's two courses, the Monument and the Pinnacle, both from the Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf partnership, set the benchmark for high desert target golf when they opened and still define it: granite outcrops, saguaro lined corridors and some of the purest greens in Arizona. The Four Seasons sits in the foothills above with adobe casitas and sweeping Pinnacle Peak views, and its guests get preferred access to both courses. Peak season fees sit in the premium 250 to 500 dollar band that rules north Scottsdale, indicative only; always confirm directly before booking. Our verdict: the best 36 hole golf and hotel combination in the Valley.
Access: public, with resort guest priority. Check stay and play rates.
The Boulders Resort & Spa
The most photogenic golf in Arizona. The Boulders' two 18 hole courses, both designed by Jay Morrish, curl around granite boulder formations millions of years old, with the famous stacks looming over fairways like sculpture. The resort, now a Curio Collection property, scatters adobe casitas through the desert beneath the rocks, and the whole place runs at a quieter, more secluded pitch than the Scottsdale strip 30 minutes south. The golf is strategic rather than brutal, the views do half the entertaining, and javelinas crossing the fairway at dusk are a regular hazard. Peak winter rates are premium with deep summer discounts, indicative only; always confirm directly before booking. Our verdict: the desert stay you remember longest.
Access: resort guests and public tee times. Check stay and play rates.
We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort
The purist's pick. We-Ko-Pa's two courses sit on Yavapai Nation land east of Scottsdale with a rare promise: no houses, no roads, nothing but desert from the first tee to the last green. The Saguaro Course, by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, is a walkable, ground game masterpiece that Golfweek has rated the best public course in Arizona, while Scott Miller's Cholla course plays bigger and bolder across the river valleys with mountain views in every direction. The casino resort alongside has modern rooms and makes the logistics one parking lot simple. Fees undercut the north Scottsdale marquees while the golf does not; always confirm directly before booking. Our verdict: the best pure golf 36 in the Valley.
Access: public; resort packages available. Check tee times.
The Phoenician
Luxury first, golf close behind. The Phoenician spreads across the southern flank of Camelback Mountain, minutes from Old Town Scottsdale, and its golf course was consolidated and redesigned by Phil Smith into a single polished 18 that climbs and falls against the mountainside with skyline views over the city. Four sets of tees keep it friendly for mixed groups, and the resort around it, all marble, pools and palm lined drives, is the most luxurious stay on this list. This is the pick for the trip where the golf shares billing with the spa, the restaurants and the people who do not play. Peak season fees are premium with the usual desert summer discounts; always confirm directly before booking.
Access: resort guests and public tee times. Check stay and play rates.

Plan a Scottsdale golf trip
Tell us roughly when and who is traveling. One concierge books the Stadium Course, sequences Troon North, We-Ko-Pa and the Boulders sensibly, pairs the right resort, and prices the trip honestly. We reply within one working day, with no obligation.
Building the trip
Five nights is the sweet spot: the Stadium Course early while legs are fresh, Troon North and We-Ko-Pa in the middle days, the Boulders to finish, and one rest afternoon at the pool. Work from our full ranking of the best golf courses in Arizona and Scottsdale, follow the day by day plan in the 5 day Scottsdale golf itinerary, and if you are chasing spring training crowds or spring weather, read Arizona golf in spring before you pick dates. The desert pairs naturally with a west coast swing through California or the value of Florida's best golf resorts if you are comparing winter sun options. When the shortlist is set, let plan my trip put the whole thing in one brief.
