Qatar Golf Holidays

A compact, polished winter golf stopover in the Gulf. Doha pairs a Qatar Masters tour venue with a modern Olazabal design and floodlit night golf, all minutes from the souqs, the skyline and some of the best hotels in the region.

Who it suits

Who a Qatar golf trip is for

Qatar is for the golfer who wants warm winter golf wrapped in city luxury, and often as part of a longer journey. Doha is not a sprawling golf resort scene like its Gulf neighbours, it is a tight, high quality pairing of two strong courses set against a striking modern skyline, with world class hotels, dining and culture on the doorstep. With Doha a major flight hub, it makes an ideal one or two night golf stopover as well as a short break in its own right.

It suits couples and small groups who value quality over quantity and want the round to sit alongside the city rather than dominate the trip. Qatar pairs naturally with a wider Gulf golf swing, whether you add Dubai or Abu Dhabi on the same journey, or break a long haul flight with a couple of memorable rounds.

The courses

Green fees below are indicative for the 2026 season and always confirm directly before booking. Qatar's golf is concentrated in Doha, so most trips play both headline venues across two or three days. See our Qatar green fees guide for the wider picture.

Peter Harradine, mid 1990s

Doha Golf Club

The home of the Qatar Masters on the DP World Tour, a dramatic desert course of grass fairways cut through rock and dunes, with the Doha skyline beyond. A floodlit nine alongside extends play into the cool of the evening.

Education City Golf Club

A modern, strategic championship course of about 7,300 yards built around a dozen lakes, opened in 2018 and host of the 2020 and 2021 Qatar Masters. A floodlit six hole loop and a par 3 course add evening golf.

Floodlit short courses

Both clubs offer floodlit golf, so you can play in the cool of the evening when the desert day is too hot. A fun, social option that lets a stopover trip squeeze in extra holes around dinner.

Two courses, two strong but very different tests, plus floodlit golf after dark. We tailor the order and pace to your dates and whether Qatar is a short break or a stopover on a longer trip.

Indicative package costs

The figures below are indicative third party ranges for the 2026 season, per person, excluding flights. Qatar's golf is good value next to its luxury hotels, which are the main lever on the spend. Always confirm directly before booking.

Doha golf and city break4~$2,200 to 3,800

Timing

Best time to book

Play from October to April for warm, dry, comfortable days, the window that hosts the Qatar Masters and makes Doha such a reliable winter golf escape. December through February is the most pleasant and the busiest, with the city at its liveliest, while the shoulder months on either side bring good weather and better value. The summer from May to September is extremely hot, so daytime golf is limited to early tee times, and the floodlit courses come into their own after dark. Doha's hotels fill around major events and the holiday peaks, so book the stay and the rounds together and ahead.

Qatar golf holiday FAQ

What are the best courses for a Qatar golf holiday?

The two headline courses are Doha Golf Club, a Peter Harradine desert course from the mid 1990s that hosts the Qatar Masters, and Education City Golf Club, a Jose Maria Olazabal design opened in 2018 with a championship course plus floodlit short courses for night golf.

How much does a Qatar golf holiday cost?

As an indicative third party guide for the 2026 season, visitor green fees in Doha run from roughly 150 to 220 dollars per round including a buggy, and a three to four night golf and city break with rounds and a five star hotel starts around 2,000 dollars per person. Always confirm directly before booking.

When is the best time for golf in Qatar?

October to April is the prime window, with warm, dry, comfortable days, which is why the Qatar Masters is played in the cooler months. The summer from May to September is extremely hot, so golf is limited to early mornings or the floodlit courses after dark.

Is Qatar a good golf stopover?

Yes. Doha's Hamad International is a major hub with connections worldwide, and the courses, luxury hotels and the city sights sit close together, so a two or three night golf stopover slots neatly into a longer journey between Europe, Asia and Australia.
