All Inclusive Golf Holidays in Spain

One estate, several courses, one price. Spain's big multi course resorts are built for the trip where the room, the board and a round a day are settled before you arrive, so all you have to do is play, eat and unwind. Here is how we build an all inclusive Spanish golf holiday.

Who this trip suits

The all inclusive Spanish golf resort is the easiest golf holiday to organize and the easiest to sell to a group. Everything sits on one estate: the hotel, several courses, a spa, restaurants and a bar, so once the package is booked there are no transfers, no separate green fee hunts and no surprises on the bill. It suits the buddies trip that wants to roll out of bed and onto the first tee, and it works just as well for couples who want golf for one and a spa and a pool for the other.

It also suits a mixed ability group. The big resorts hold several courses of different lengths and difficulties, so the low handicapper gets a championship test and the higher handicapper a friendlier round, often on the same morning. Murcia, the Costa del Sol and the Costa de la Luz each offer this in their own style, from the sporting heritage of La Manga to the mountain backdrop of La Cala and the beach setting of Islantilla. Pick the coast, settle on the board basis, and the rest takes care of itself.

A sample seven night structure

Day one, fly into Murcia, Malaga or Faro and check into the resort. Days two to six, a round most mornings across the resort's courses, mixing the championship test with the friendlier layouts, with afternoons for the spa, the pool or the beach. Day three or four, a rest day to explore the coast or a nearby town. Day seven, a final round and a long lunch before the short transfer back to the airport. One base, no packing and unpacking, golf on tap.

When to go

Southern Spain plays year round. Spring and autumn are the prime golf windows, warm and settled with the courses at their best, while winter draws northern Europeans escaping the cold and is the busy season on the Costa del Sol. Midsummer is hot inland but pleasant early in the day, and that is when all inclusive package rates are often lowest.
