Who this trip suits
This is the long weekend with intent: four championship rounds across the two Gulf cities most travelers already fly through, built for golfers stopping over between Europe, Asia or Australia, or escaping a northern winter without losing a week of leave. The golf is uniformly immaculate, carts and good caddies or forecaddies are easy, English is the working language, and every course on the route has hosted or currently hosts professional tour golf. Tee off at dawn, and by lunch you are at a beach club, the Louvre Abu Dhabi or the top of the Burj Khalifa.

Two nights in each city, one 90 minute transfer in the middle, and departure from either airport since Dubai International and Abu Dhabi's Zayed International both work as exits. Arrive in Dubai, the Majlis at Emirates Golf Club
Land early or the night before and open on the Majlis, Karl Litten's 1988 landmark, the Middle East's first grass championship course and the longtime home of the Dubai Desert Classic. Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club
Stay city side for Dubai Creek, host of the DP World Tour's Dubai Invitational, where the closing holes run hard against the saltwater creek under the sail shaped clubhouse. Indicative 2026 base fees are about 225 US dollars weekdays and 247 at weekends with a shared cart included, and twilight visitor rates around AED 460 make a late round the value play. Old Dubai, the souks and a dhow dinner are ten minutes away.
Transfer to Abu Dhabi, Yas Links
Drive the 90 minutes to the capital and go straight to Yas Links, Kyle Phillips's 2010 creation along the Yas Island shore and, for many judges, the best course in the UAE, now a world top 100 regular and host of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship since 2022. Mangroves, sea breeze and true links contours; indicative 2026 peak fees run roughly AED 880 to 1,100 booked direct, with off peak slots far less. Sleep on Yas Island, with Ferrari World and the marina on the doorstep.
Abu Dhabi Golf Club National, then fly home
Finish at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, whose National course staged the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship from 2006 to 2021 beneath the giant falcon clubhouse. It is the most playable round of the four, generous parkland fairways with championship greens, and indicative 2026 fees start around AED 530 off peak, rising through the winter. An early tee time leaves the afternoon for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque before an evening flight from Zayed International, or the run back up to Dubai.

When to go and how to run it
October to April is the season: warm, dry, tournament conditioned, and priced accordingly, with January and February the glamour weeks around the professional events, when tee sheets tighten and the Majlis goes walking only. May to September is fiercely hot but absurdly good value, playable at first light with summer rates often half the winter card. Run the trip with a driver or the excellent ride hailing apps rather than a hire car; no transfer on this route exceeds 90 minutes and parking, tolls and navigation become someone else's problem.
