Sueno Golf Club in Belek, lake lined fairways running through umbrella pines on the Dunes course, Turkey
Course profile · Belek, Antalya, Turkey

Sueno Dunes

The Dunes is the second of the two championship courses at Sueno Golf Club in Belek, a par 69 of 5,643 meters designed by International Design Group and opened in 2007. Water threads the whole property, and the round ends on one of Turkish golf's signature shots, an approach over water to an island green in front of the clubhouse.

The verdict

Belek built its name on big, friendly resort golf, and Sueno runs one of the strip's best operations: 36 holes, two hotels a short walk from the first tee, and a tee sheet that moves all winter. The Dunes, opened in 2007 on the southwest side of the resort and designed like its sibling by International Design Group, is the shorter and sharper of the two. The card says par 69 and 5,643 meters, and plenty of visitors read that as the easy day. It is not. The club counts 19 lakes across the property and well over a hundred bunkers, and the Dunes leans on the water relentlessly, asking for placement from the tee and honest carries into the greens.

For a traveling group it is one of Belek's smartest tickets: a course you can play the day you land or the morning you leave, a genuine examination for the better players in the party, and a fee that sits below the marquee names along the strip. Pair it with the longer Pines next door for the full Sueno week, then add Carya or The National for variety.

The holes worth the trip

The opening holes are the gentlest on the property, generous fairways framed by umbrella pines that let a group settle into the round. Do not bank the score, because the course tightens steadily from there, the lakes pinching landing areas and the bunkering pushing tee shots toward the wrong angles. The midround stretch is where handicaps go to die quietly, a run of holes where the safe line off the tee leaves a longer, braver second over water.

Everything builds to the 18th, the hole everyone photographs and the one the resort is known for: a closing approach to an island green sitting just steps from the clubhouse terrace. With a match on the line and an audience finishing lunch above the green, it is one of the most nerveless shots in Belek. Take one more club than pride suggests.

Because the par is 69 the course offers only limited chances to claw shots back, which is exactly why good players enjoy it: pars feel earned, birdies feel stolen, and the water makes every loose swing expensive.

Where to stay nearby

The obvious base is on site. The Sueno resort's hotels sit beside the golf club, the club lists the courses at roughly 50 meters from the hotel, and the all inclusive model means the golf, the dining and the pool day all happen within one gated property. For a buddies trip that wants zero logistics, it is about as frictionless as golf travel gets.

If you would rather sample the wider strip, Belek's other golf hotels are all within a 20 minute transfer, so a week based anywhere along the coast can take in Sueno, Carya, The National and more without repacking a suitcase. Our Belek golf holidays page maps the combinations that work.
