The shape of the week
Scottsdale is the easiest great golf trip in America to execute. One base, north Scottsdale, puts every course on this itinerary within a 45 minute drive, the weather from January to April is a near guarantee, and the courses are built for visitors: carts, forecaddies on request, and pro shops that have seen every kind of group. The trade is price. This is peak season resort golf, and the marquee tee sheets run 300 to 550 dollars before tax. Book everything as early as the booking windows allow, Troon North opens at 90 days, and avoid WM Phoenix Open week in early February unless the tournament is the point.

Day by day
Grayhawk, Raptor Course
Land by noon, check in, and ease into the desert with an afternoon round on the Raptor. It is the friendliest opener of the four, target golf without terror, and indicative 2026 peak rates run about 250 to 350 dollars, falling to around 102 in August. Dinner in Old Town Scottsdale.
TPC Scottsdale, Stadium Course
The Weiskopf and Morrish design from 1986 that hosts the WM Phoenix Open. Play the famous 16th in its quiet, stadium skeleton state and try to carry the 15th's island fringed green. Indicative 2026 peak fees run about 436 to 550 dollars. Walk it off with a recovery dinner at the Princess resort next door.
Troon North, Monument Course
Weiskopf and Morrish again, 1990, the round that defines high desert golf: granite boulders, saguaro lined corridors and the split fairway 3rd. Dynamic pricing means morning prime times in peak season clear 300 dollars and can reach about 389. Afternoon round optional on the sister Pinnacle Course.
We-Ko-Pa, Saguaro Course
The connoisseur's pick. Coore and Crenshaw, 2006, walkable, no houses anywhere, and Golfweek's top public course in Arizona for 15 of the last 16 years. Peak 2026 rate is a flat 309 dollars, and the club does not resell times through aggregators, so book direct. Sunset drinks back at the resort.
Replay the favorite, then fly
With a late flight, replay whichever course fought you best, We-Ko-Pa's Cholla Course is the natural second look, or sleep in and hike Pinnacle Peak before the airport. Twilight rates trim the bill on a departure day round.
Green fees are indicative for the 2026 peak season, January to April, exclude tax of roughly 5 to 9 percent plus water surcharges where applied, and were verified at the time of writing. Always confirm directly before booking.
Logistics and packing
Rent a car; rideshare works in town but not for 7am tee times at Fort McDowell. Mornings in January and February start near 40 degrees and finish near 70, so pack layers you can shed by the 5th hole. Sunscreen is not optional at 1,500 feet in desert air, and neither is doubling your usual water intake. Most courses include a cart in the rate; the Saguaro Course is the one built to walk.
If the dates slide to summer, flip the logic: dawn tee times, 109 dollar rates at We-Ko-Pa from mid June to late August, and a pool for the afternoon. The full seasonal picture is in our February destinations guide and the broader 5 day Scottsdale itinerary.

Arizona itinerary questions
How much should I budget for green fees on a 5 day Arizona trip?
In peak season, January through April 2026, expect about 250 to 350 dollars at Grayhawk Raptor, 436 to 550 at TPC Scottsdale Stadium, 300 to 389 at Troon North Monument and about 309 at We-Ko-Pa Saguaro, before tax and water surcharges. Summer rates fall to a third of that. Always confirm directly before booking.
When is the best time for this itinerary?
January through April is prime: 70 degree days and tournament condition turf, at peak prices. November and early December offer nearly the same weather for less. Summer is for bargain hunters who tee off at dawn; rates drop as low as about 102 to 109 dollars at Grayhawk and We-Ko-Pa.
How far in advance should I book Scottsdale tee times?
Book up to 90 days out at Troon North and as early as possible everywhere in peak season. Avoid WM Phoenix Open week in early February unless you are going to the tournament: rates peak and the Stadium Course closes around the event.
Do Scottsdale courses add fees on top of the green fee?
Yes. Posted rates usually exclude tax of roughly 5 to 9 percent and a water resource surcharge of about 4 to 5 percent at many courses, added at checkout. Carts are typically included at the resort courses; caddies are rare.
